I would be more concerned living in an area where the power lines are made of wood, copper is a much better conductor of electricity.

You know what though? That's probably a rather safe place to live. The radiation is fully contained and only steam comes out of the cooling towers, so there is nothing to worry about. At that distance, there's probably not even much noise. The main downside I'd see to that would be excessive traffic on your road from the workers coming and going.

Any reason you actually want to live in Smithville?
Do you work up there or something? |

We moved into a house that has a power generator station about two blocks away, with high power lines stringing across right outside the street. We have lived in the house for over 20 years. Beside my wife's thyroid and cholesterol treatment, my kids and I are relatively healthy. On our street, there are two other families that live there longer than us.

The primary reason for the extreme drop in US population is electricity distribution.

Wooden power lines?
Who knew wood was a good conductor of electricity?

We have lived in our house with power lines behind us for 20 years. I have not gotten cancer once. Also, there is a gas line buried under the power lines. I will probably die of an explosion if there is ever a big earthquake. The sound of the power lines buzzing on a foggy day is nice.

If there were anything to the concerns of the tinfoil cappers, every electric lineman in the country would look like sloth and have children that look like creatures in 70s Japanese horror films.
Two daughters of a 30+ year electric lineman watch our kids and they only thing they smash is a bag of Doritos, not city blocks. |

Power line warriers were the anti-vaxxers before the anti-vaxxers. Nothing can truly disprove the link, but every study that ever established one turned out not to be repeatable on any large scale and the methodology was eventually demolished. Every study with an accepted methodology simply didn't establish a link. This, however, is true. If not for the cancer risks, it's the fact that they're just kinda ugly.

I attribute my 13 inch penis to the electric lines in my backyard.

I can't get a real good feel for the total sq footage, though. Maybe 1600ish? If so, $100/sq ft seems a little high given the power line issue but with what appears to be granite countertops and quality trim work throughout the home, you couldn't build that house for $100/sq ft, IMO. It's a damn nice looking home and I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand just because of the powerlines. There's a lot to work with there. If you don't have your own realtor, as the realtor showing the house to get you a CMA on surrounding properties and see what kind of $/sq foot the market is supporting.
