The 49ers have expressed to others that a deal for QB Alex Smith is effectively complete. Can't be finalized til league year begins 3/12

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora

so it's not official, both clubs view it at as it's effectively done. I do not know the other team. KC and JAX are 2 teams that make sense

Executive of the decade.

I don't trust anyone until they prove something. Reid hasn't proved shit here, and if he lets Albert walk to draft an LT and bring in another teams scrub qb then he can eat a big giant shitburger, along with you and any other true fan who gladly takes it up the ass without question.

remember that old r&b song "second time around"? Yep, im sure everything will be dandy if we let Albert walk, draft joekel, and bring in another back up to be our starter at QB. Lets just ease back, sauce a rib, and "trust the process"

To me, that chance doesn't vary much if you go with a tyler wilson or a matt barkley. This draft just does not have that surefire special player FOR NOW. I'm sure reid can develop one with a 2nd round qb pick. Andrew luck and rg3 were head and shoulders above everyone else pre draft. Geno is not that much better if he is better than the top 3 qbs. If we draft a qb in the 2nd or 3rd, who knows, we might find our russell wilson.
More often than not, the first QB taken in a draft does considerably better in the NFL than 2nd, 3rd or 4th QB taken. That shows that GMs possess skill in picking the best prospects and that it is not a crapshoot as your fallacious argument suggests. Do your homework, select your guy, and take your chances. That is the best way of getting a franchise QB.

Well Reid has actually proven to be successful on his own. Where as with fat Scott lots of people questioned whether he actually did anything with Belicheat running the show. But I agree with your point nobody should get a free pass regardless.

It's been awhile since Reid has been successful, if not he would still be coaching in Philly.
Anyone going to a new team gets a clean slate, which means his rep with me starts at ZERO.

Yes 2 years out of his tenure he had issues but to compare it at all to Pioli is ludicrous. But I AGREE with you about the clean slate as I stated in my previous post.

The only acceptable scenario is A Smith for a 4th, resign Albert and Bowe, and take a QB at 1.1 Anything else is grounds for dismissal.

I would trade Smith for a 5th. Re sign Bowe, colquitt, and Albert. Get Geno #1.
