anybody else read them? there's another one coming out in a few weeks. I enjoy them, and he's a local (kc) author. he wrote the first after getting encouragement from a creative writing teacher in college (he ramped up a short story, and has eleven out already, the twelfth on the way, and enough short stories/novellas to release a book of them. not to COUNT his whole other series [that I haven't read yet], codex alera) if you don't know, now you know. ya know?

Just finished "Side Jobs", the collection of short stories. Excellent read, and interesting to watch the character developing in these small interludes between books. Especially found the early short story interesting; you could see that it was a bit ham-handed and yet even then you could see the "classic" Dresden dialogue and tone working itself out.

As for the last short story, it takes place after Harry's death but really doesn't mention anything about the future. It gives no hints that he's really alive, or coming back. But it was also fascinating because it's a Karrin Murphy story, and you get to hear her thoughts from Butcher's first-person storytelling for the first time. Very cool.

next book comes out this july or so (pushed back three months)... "ghost story."

"winter knight" is the confirmed title for the 14th book.
