The D has show marked improvment in the last few games. Moving Browning inside and inserting Maz has made a huge difference. Also in the last two games I've seen more man to man being played by our corners. Smith still smoked Dennis a few times, but overall I think he held his own.

The Donkey fans on the Post BB are laming it all on Shanarat and Boobiac's game planning.
Wait...I thought Shanarat was an offensive genius? (If Bob Dole had to hear "The System" one more time today, Bob Dole was going to vomit.) |

Sometimes you can't blame a loss on your guys. Sometimes the other team just takes it to you. Like the Seahawks playing with more fire than Oakland yesterday. And the Chiefs just ramming the run game through Denver's D. And KC protecting Arrowhead more fiercely than the Broncos could handle.

KC rushed for 264 yds.
They held the donx to 66 (what are the donx? Like #2 rushing in the NFL? This was a stellar performance by a D that has turned the corner and could be dominant in 2001. Just get rid of that awful zone and keep letting Maz, Wesley, Hicks and Clemons HIT PEOPLE. KCJ Hitting Counts |

Its about time the KC defense stopped somebody. Although stopping Gus Ferrotte isnt that hard.

well packfan last time i checked gus wasn't the only person on the bronco's offense. what about mike anderson????? how many yards did he have? the chiefs shut him down. plain and simple. so why don't you go back to packland and stay there until you can make comments that at least make sense?

Unless I'm mistaken, New Orleans had quite a bit of trouble with the Frerotte-led Broncos. But I guess the Saints D is crappy too.

There seems to be a relationship between Richardson's running and the defense's newfound stoutness. In the 2 games Rich has started at TB, the Chiefs have dominated in yds, 1st downs, and time-of-possession, leaving the D on the field less. The D in those 2 games has yielded only 15 points and about 22 1st downs, and 89 rushing yds.

I have to say that I was impressed with the young guys on KC's defense, and the DL really gave it to Denver's OL.
I was scratching my head all day trying to figure out what Gus was thinking on a lot of those plays. I think he's about as smart as Leaf with some of his decisions, but he's not as immature. Who would have thought that Denver fans would be saying this so often this year, "If Griese had been in there, this team would be 11-4 and division champs". Ah well, I think we have a keeper with Griese. I was actually expecting Grbac to shred the Denver secondary. Ah well, pick your poison I guess. After the a$$ chewing these guys get all week and the build up for Sunday's final game at Mile High Stadium... I think this will assure a Denver victory! If they lose the final game at home - I'm not watching the playoffs. Anywho, this is life in the NFL. |

Bob Dole is just thrilled that he may be able to make it through an entire week without hearing or reading some "expert" in the national media yammer on about Denver's O-line being such a dominant force yadda yadda yadda...

Well, KC did their job and shut down the offense, but the OL is still damn good! The stats for the season speak for themselves.

MHM - You guys did abuse Dennis a lot today, he seems to bite a little quickly on fakes and is left standing out in lala land. I think everyone knew what was going to happen on the 4th down play late in the game, and Dennis just covered to the inside and played the big play correctly.

Bob Dole, the stats I'm referring to are the offensive numbers - yards, points, wins. The OL was crappy yesterday, but for the year, they have been kicking major a$$.
Next year will tell the tale, they'll most likely have to replace two OL and revamp the secondary, while playing a *tougher* schedule. So, we will see. |
