Grade my team

I think we have had a thread for this in the past.. so feel free to post your own team below.

I just drafted last night in my 14-team, 1/2 ppr league. Return yards count for the individual and the flex position also can be a QB. Our league used to have six points for passing td's, but returned it to four points a couple years ago. Despite that, QBs go off the board way to soon. In fact, eleven were taken in the first round and five in the second round.

My strategy was to wait on QB and load up on other positions, as I picked seventh.

Team is below. The number in parenthesis is my ranking of these players within their positional groups (didn't combine them into one board), just for general interest.

1 - Jamaal Charles - KC RB (1)
2 - Antonio Brown - Pit WR (1)
3 - Teddy Bridgewater - Min QB (18)
4 - C.J. Spiller - NO RB (8) - due to return yards
5 - Latavius Murray - Oak RB (14)
6 - DaVante Adams - GB WR (10)
7 - Blake Bortles - Jax QB (23)
8 - Darren Sproles - Phi RB (25) - I think he will get return yards in the regular season
9 - Percy Harvin - Buf WR (17) - due to return yards
10 - Denard Robinson - Jax RB (40)
11 - Leonard Hankerson - Atl WR (42)
12 - Brian Quick - StL WR (44)
13 - Charles Clay - Buf TE (10)
14 - Chiefs D (14)
15 - Brandon McManus - Den K (2)

I think I regret the Percy Harvin pick already. Beckham was taken two picks before I took Bridgewater, and I think I paniced on QB a bit, although I do like Teddy.

If I had know Bortles would drop into the 7th, I think I would have taken another top-tier WR, but most were scooped up, and I wasn't feeling Demaryius Thomas.

For a weak link.. not that weak. I think your first four WRs all have lots of value.

Your RBs are your weakest link. Bell is Bell but you won't have him the first two weeks. Murray is a talent but his offensive line is shit and he's never been run a full season. Stewart is a walking injury. Bell will be in a timeshare and Bernard is nothing with Hill playing.

Your TE is meh but the rest of the team is bullshit. Doug Martin is a 5th back. wtf

Given all that I don't think you're WRs are bad. Your QBs are a great pair, IMO. Nothing personal to gator but I think Eli or Tannehill could be a top 5ish QB. I wanted to draft Eli but his preseason games scared me off a bit. Still, when Cruz is that fantasy scrub no one wants to draft as your 3rd option and Shane Vereen is an easy dump down back..Eli could have a huge year

What scares me is how bad Eli looked in preseason. He looked completely lost again. He is so up and down over his career. You would *think* he would be good with all those receivers, but I don't trust him. I fear a regression back to the norm closer to what he displayed in 2013.

Tannehill seems to be on a hype train, but I haven't spent enough time understanding the fundamental changes that are supposed to happen to that offense. I have heard they want to be very up-tempo (Chip Kelly like), but haven't looked at it enough. The Miami team in general seems to be on a hype train, with every WR seemingly over valued. I'm really not sure what to believe there.

Jamaal maclin me kelce.....

12 team, 1st overall pick, standard scoring. Yes I could use a better QB. But injury aside Bradford still has a pretty high ceiling. Plus I think my last 4 picks were 2 QBs, a kicker and the chiefs D with the last pick of the draft.

I like Bradford too.. and I like Palmer if his O-Line bothers to block for him.

Just keep your trigger finger on Mark Sanchez though.

A little thin at RB, after your first three.

Yeah, the reason why my te sucks is because the rb kept dropping. I couldn't pass them up.

Little thin, that's polite.... Lol. I kept finding myself in a position to take more WR depth. Kniles went right before my 6-7 round picks so I went 2wrs. Hopefully I strike some gold in the WR department and have good depth. If JC goes down I'll jump on west and hope he gets more touches than knile.

Plus you can always go a couple weeks thin at something and see how the FAs develop

After a few moves, I though I had improved my WR depth from the OP. Picked up DeVante Parker and Ty Montgomery (again.. return yards also count) and dropped Quick and Hankerson.

Now, with the James Jones possible signing, I may end up dropping Montgomery and picking Eric Ebron up. It also scares me for Adams's upside too.

I have my watch list full of potential TE breakouts.. now I may need to look for WR2's as well.

QB: Bridgewater, Bortles
RB: Charles, Spiller, Murray, Sproles, Robinson
WR: Brown, DaVante Adams, DeVante Parker, Harvin, Ty Montgomery
TE: Charles Clay
D: KC
K: Bullock (Houston)

Yeah, it is true. I'm actually pretty happy with how the draft unfolded, and would have had to scramble for positions (like RB and QB) later had I taken him.

I think more coverage will roll his way though, and I think there will be less throws as well. I don't know what that equals, but it definitely equals a little bit of unknown.

I understand the concern. Manning's arm has been looking pretty weak as of late and he looks like shit in their new run-oriented offense. There's a good chance his targets will see a sharp drop..

I still drafted him, though. Manning will likely do as he always does: start the season off on fire and then taper off near the postseason. Emmanuel Sanders is actually nursing a hamstring injury so I don't expect him to be as effective out of the gate. They also lost Julius Thomas and, despite what KnowMo would have you believe, Cody Latimer is not a viable receiving option. To me, that spells a heavy dose of CJ Anderson and Demaryius Thomas at least through the first month.
