We don't allow transactions in mid-season for several reasons.

1. Since you already know when injuries will occur, allowing transactions makes it easy for people to work around them, which isn't realistic.
2. It allows us to stock up for free agency the following season if all the good surprise players don't get picked up midseason.
3. This may be my personal nitpick, but in fantasy leagues there are 8 million transactions and the advantage often goes to the fastest person. We want this to be more about roster building than about who can run to the waiver wire and grab someone the fastest. In this game, you better be able to draft well and spend your free agent money well.

I had Rueben Randle returning a punt when Percy Harvin is among the best in football at it.

I thought it odd, but didn't give it more thought than that. But I'm running a full 53 man roster so I'd imagine that I'd have ended up in a similar boat as you if I had a free spot or two. Randle isn't even listed among my top 5 WRs; he's essentially the 50th man on the team there for developmental purposes and he was returning a pretty critical punt late in the game.

So yeah, that does look like it needs some tweaking.

Here another bizarre occurrence:

At home, Aaron Rodgers had three delay of game penalties and Dez Bryant had two false starts.

That seems a little strange. I mean if for no other reason than they were playing at home. Perhaps in a road game I'd get it, but you don't get many pre-snap offensive penalties at home, especially not delay of game penalties and false-starts from WRs.

Aaron Rodgers really couldn't have played a worse game. I hope he got that shit out of his system because it was just abysmal.

Question: Should we anticipate roster eligibility to be updated before week 2?

There's a simple way around 2/3. All deals are for this year only, no re-signing available.

If anything there should have been more time for hte off-season... some of my FA targets were bid repeated simply to keep them on the board - so much that they lasted the entire Free Agency period, and I was holding off on trades because of this.. I wanted to see what i could land with money.... then trade to fill holes or relieve what i had excess of... then sign backups to fill the further holes created...

Because the shitty free agency tactics and mechanics it was so drug out and then with the abrupt end.. there's no refining of the roster allowed.

In future years this process will be given more time as per the tentative schedule listed in the Sandbox thread. As for this year, I think we're all very aware that to get this season done and have another entire offseason before the start of the NFL season in September required a pretty quick turn around.

I really should have paid more attention. For some reason, it just didn't sink in that there would be no way to pick up any players after the season started. It's going to be really interesting having a free agent kicker in weeks 14-16 and (hopefully) the playoffs.

Yeah, I noticed you were going to be playing me with a street free agent with a potential playoff spot on the line in an inter-division game late in the year.

I...uh...elected not to point it out to you...

I actually started to bid on a second kicker in FA, but couldn't figure out who I wanted to cut if I got him. So I held off and then didn't really think about it again. Dumb.

Another little hiccup in my game - rainman noticed this in one of his, but the penalties aren't matching up.

The final box score says 3/29, but like I said, my guys had 5 between Rodgers and Bryant alone. My total was something like 10/64.

This may have been the ugliest football game in recorded history.

Percy Harvin did not return a single punt in 2012.

Well shit.

He was a damn dangerous returner for me in 2011 Sandbox and it appears I just took that one for granted. I guess it's possible I was recalling his work on kickoffs and presumed there were also punt returns in there (his 54 yard kickoff return yesterday would suggest that was probably the case). I'm clearly not very intelligent.

Man, my punt return game will likely eat bawls this year. Looks like Randle probably was my best punt returner in 2012. Double turds.
