It was a reach by most people standards. I don't remember him making too many plays in college. I remember him getting benched time and time again for his attitude problem

I kept saying this all last year in. Well that they needed to try for a block once in a while. If they didn't get the block it would make the opposing team think the next time they punted to dante and maybe stop them from immediately head down field. I think if they try to block a punt in the first couple of games it could open up Dante for some big returns.

Last hit i saw like that came from Eric Warfield at Seattle in 2001 during pouring down rain. He laid a hit on Darrell Jackson that just about knocked his damn socks off. Replay showed it a few times, but Warfield literally nailed his ass coming out of a crossing out pattern. It was one of the loudest "POPS" I've ever heard and Warfield knew it too. He strutted around like a damned rooster for a few minutes after the hit.

That was the same game when I knew Dante would be a star returner. He fielded a one hop punt that dang near went over his head and he caught it beautifully. I had a conversation with Gansz Jr. at Nick n Jakes in OP one night about it, told him that was when I knew DV had been right about him.
