Could Justin Houston really break the sack record?

I mean, we play some really, really, REALLY bad teams folks.

Bills
Browns
Giants OL is shaky
Raiders twice
Chargers twice (and their OL is just bad)
Broncos lost Clady and we play them twice
Titans

All he needs is 16 more sacks in 13 games. What have you?

The Titans have a great combination of tackles.

Plus, I haven't rewatched the tape or anything, but Houston held at the LOS a lot more instead of charging up field.

It looks like they were running "contain" passrushes all game, instead of going far wide outside. They were treating Fitz like you would Michael Vick, and tried not to give him any lanes to escape.

Always hurts your sack numbers. But Hali was absolutely crushing Roos all game, pushing him right into Fitz. Houston just didn't show up.

Houston missed a fairly easy tackle on Pickspatrick on the 3rd and Goal to take the lead.

That was pretty pathetic. I hope he hasn't blown his load already.

Yeah, he definitely blew the shit out of that one.

To be fair though, the long run by Battle and the 20+ yarder to Fitz were both to the left side. Tamba was rushing upfield leaving huge lanes for Fitz to take off through.

Don't be fooled. They had a bad quarter. That's pretty much the sum of it. Fitz had like 30 yards passing in the first half. 248 total for the game and probably 200 of that was in the 3rd quarter, mostly on broken plays. Ditto for the runs. Battle had one nice 37 yard carry in the 2nd quarter. He and Chris Johnson combined for 18 yards on their other 15 carries.

It was a lot like the Philly game, yardage off of broken plays (and missed sacks), counter-balanced by forced turnovers. Need to clean up the tackling a bit, especially on the QB.

Houston did get credited with one sack. I don't remember when it was, though.

Houston is 1.5 sacks away from matching what our entire team did during the 16 games of the 2008 season.
