I just heard about this on the news driving to work this AM. Very sad, and especially sad if this poor girl was a family member of one of our own here on the CP.
Very sad day. |

Political commentary and attempts at humor are fine in most threads. I think I'd refrain from both in a thread about the murder of a 10 year old girl who is a family member of a regular poster here.

who knows how it all went down, but if you are sitting in your garage and some freak grabs a kid in front of your house and takes off, aren't you driving after the SOB while the wife calls 911? If guy runs red lights and shit to get away from you, he's gonna get caught before he kills the girl. I'd feel pretty shitty if all I did was call 911 and found out about this.

One of the articles I read, said the guy did try to run him down while his wife wrote down the license plate number. Then they called 911.

I read that too. If not for them, the police may have had no leads and the sick bastard would still be walking around. Too bad they did not get to him in time, but because of this couple they were able to locate the truck and suspect within a 4 hour or so time frame.

I can't knock the guy, he was not negligent in his duty as a good citizen. However I think the feel of some is that, and I'll just speak for me, is as my wife is calling the cops I'm hopping in my car to try and follow so at the very least I can try to keep eyes on him. However I don't know enough about this guy(age, if he could even drive, etc)to know what he "should have done". At least they let the cops know so this sick piece of shit could be caught. |

And prayers out to MTG and his family and the parents of the little girl. It's absolutely sickening. I have no children and can't comprehend what they must be going through.
