-- Cracker Barrel Old Country Store & Restaurant, what do you order?
What do you order at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store & Restaurant? Is there a certain location you specifically make a point to go to? Maybe en route to a nice vacation spot!? I'd say I like their B&G and Pancakes the best. They also make a nice bacon flavored sausage(although I can't find anything on it on the web) (I swear it existed!), or at least it used to, it was an alternative to their spicy whole-hog standard breakfast sausage. Plus you could purchase tubes of it raw, to go!
Lunch or Dinner I'd go pot roast without hesitation, which plate would you do? breakfast plates. lunch/dinner plates. location near you? |

I think it has been a decade or better since I've eaten at one. Never could get excited about the place, but their breakfasts were the best part of the menu. I think the last thing I had there was chicken fried steak, but like I said that was a long time ago.
Hard to want Cracker Barrel when there is a Corner Café literally a half mile away. |

We hit it this year with the kids on the way back from the beach. I made the mistake of trying to go southern and get greens and grits. Both were really poor. Other sides were decent.

Not a huge fan of the Machine Shed. I'd go eat there, but never been impressed. Everyone seems to love it, the times I've been there it's just average food.

I've only eaten at a Cracker Barrel once in the past many years and don't remember what I got. But a chicken fried steak sounds pretty good right now.

I eat at it once a year or so. I'm never excited when it gets picked. But I'm also never disappointed with what I end up getting. It's good, filling and well priced.

My wife and I like to go for the fish fry (cod) on Friday night. I also be sure to get the cinnamon apples as one of my sides!
If by chance we are there on any other day I would probably get the chicken dumplings. |
