Study: Troy Polamalu worth 11.2 points per game

An analysis at the link below shows that the Steelers were 11.2 points per game better when Polumalu was playing compared to the games where a replacement player filled his position.

There are some limitations to the study. But let's say he was only worth 6 points per game. That is still eye-popping.

Two Polamalus could beat the Chiefs.

It would be interesting to see some statistical analysis of the 2004 Colts with and without Bob Sanders. The result was pretty much the same.

And people say Eric Berry and other safeties are worthless

I don't know if I can ever watch this guy play again without thinking about those godawful Head and Shoulders commercials. Those commercials are so gay they make Richard Simmons look like Chuck Norris. I hope he got paid a truckload of cash for them. Jesus.

They are horrible. Actually, worse than the TV commercials is the one that they play on sports radio. It is embarrassing.

I'd kind of wondered about that cdcox, but found other distractions, so thanks! I also wonder how much the turn around of the Donx D can be attributed to Dawkins.

His Michael Jackson-like voice doesn't help, either.

I'll bet he takes all kind of shit over that on the field. I guess he can use it as motivation.

I would hope so. Although, he hasn't been on the field much this year to get shit about it. I'm sure his teammates are relentless about it though.
