Go on Record: Predict the Punishment for Deflategate

So we've all talked about what we think the punishment will be for Deflategate. What do you think WILL be the punishment? Will the Kraft/Goodell relationship come to fruition? Will the be pounded as multiple offenders? Will they get the Saints treatment?

My official prediction: Brady gets a $500,000 fine. Belichick gets $250,000. Loss of a fifth round draft pick for the organization.

It's pretty clear to me that the entire Patriots organization has made a mockery of NFL rules, and it's now time to pay the piper. Frankly, I'd hit em and hit em hard. The integrity of the game is now on the line.

ANYTHING less than a suspension of Brady for 16 games, a loss of a first round draft pick, and a massive fine of the organization (for obviously turning a blind eye towards this kind of crap) would be ludicrous.

When guys and organizations feel they are "above" the game, that's when the little hairs on the back of my neck start going the other direction. These assholes need to be punished.

It says right in my link that's how a lawyer of his kind writes things. Lawyers are good at using words that way. You're not telling me anything I don't already know. Lawyers can trap with careful use of words that others will read differently. The thing is this lawyer can only state "generally knew" and that does not mean Brady knew how these dudes would do it. It's still not hard evidence of cheating ( wanting the balls under the PSI) and it's not evidence Brady instructed the staffers to deflate under the allowed PSI. The only evidence is that the staffers violated the rules by getting their hands on the balls after inspection.

Generally means generally—just that he wanted his balls on the lower side of the PSI. It doesn't mean much more. It's vague.

Again, he used that terminology because saying it that way to the NFL makes it crystal clear that it goes past their line of whether or not it's punishable. Wells is saying he was involved within the NFL's definition. I know it sounds vague, but in fact it's not based on the NFL's guidelines and definitions. It's perfectly clear.

Because holding (which is penalized) is the same as intentionally circumventing the rules (which is a nice way of saying "cheating").

That's why Well's cleared the entire organization after three individuals right?

Kraft, Belichick, Gostkowski and the rest of the organization were cleared with Brady only generally aware of the situation ( without the press specifying what that means).

Don't any of you kid yourselves, you're not really for the integrity of the game. Not when you overgeneralize yourselves and state things not stated in the report even.

Management is responsible for what goes on under them. It's been going on since 07, so if they didn't know that's just as damning.

That poster is a waste of time to talk to, bud.

He/she has acknowledged that the verbiage is what they use because without being right there filming them deflating the balls, sending texts and other correspondence back and forth taking about deflating the balls after the refs inspect them is what they have used to come to the reports conclusion.

The fact that he/she acknowledged that and still is arguing this whole "libel" thing tells me all I need to know about her/him.

The precedent was sent with Bountygate. Ignorance is no excuse. It does not matter that Bellichek was "exonerated" by Wells. He is still responsible for what goes on with his team.

Hell no I'm not reading. I'm not pretending to be an expert on it. But I can still make a prediction that is 99.99% probable to be wrong.

Besides that, Goodell himself said that ignorance is not an excuse or whatever, so there is precedent for eliminating plausible deniability.

Yes, I understand that the rest of the organization was "cleared". My point is that this organization has tolerated some rather shady activity regarding NFL rules, and this is just another example of how the organization obviously is not "all in" as per playing within the rules and guidelines of the NFL. They'll make their own rules, thank you.

Heck, maybe every team should attempt to circumvent the rules. In my mind, that's certainly not what sports are about.....that's what I mean by INTEGRITY. And it's pretty damn clear that the Patriots organization lacks this particular virtue.

These assholes cheat. Pretty simple, really.

That has nothing to do with what I said. It's a strawman.

This is what you said I am contending:

Quote:
My official prediction: Brady gets a $500,000 fine. Belichick gets $250,000. Loss of a fifth round draft pick for the organization.
You want BB fined but he was cleared, even by Wells.
You want the organization punished, though it was cleared as well as Kraft.

None of that has to do with plausible deniability.

If you haven't read even just part of the actual report, then you're not even answering to the actual charges in it, never mind if there are any real ones regarding Brady. Not only that, but you even REFUSE to read it. People call me the dumbass? What's that?

By all means, let the media shape your opinion.
