SceneItAll Tournament: Round 1, Heat 151

The rules:

In Round 1, I'm going to put up three randomly selected scenes from the nomination thread.

You'll vote for your ONE favorite scene among the three. The key here is FAVORITE. We're not talking about the 'best' or 'most powerful' or 'most meaningful'. We're talking about the scene that you most enjoy watching, however you define that.

The winners will move on. I'll also take the 10 highest-scoring second-place scenes and they'll advance as wild cards.

Some of our nominations did not include clips. This will be noted. If you find a clip, please post it and let me know so I can update it if it moves on.

This has some NSFW elements in it. I debated allowing it in the tournament, but it's not porn and it's from a real movie, so I allowed it. I would ask, though, that you judge the scene on its merit and not what you'd like to do to Jennifer Connelly in those filthy, disgusting dreams of yours (and mine).

My votes in a solid heat:

#1 - Forrest Gump. This is a great scene. First, it's got good music. Against the Wind? Excellent. Then it's got great scenery. Monument Valley? Excellent. Gump's hair and beard are a nice touch, and I like the sheeplike attitude of the followers. And then he just pulls the rug out from under them, but he does so in an honorable manner.

#2 - Requiem for a Dream. The best part about this scene is probably the lesbian stuff going on with Jennifer Connelly. It really draws your attention, and you want to be in the scene. But it's kind of dark and there are a bunch of men around, so I went with Forrest Gump at #1.

#3 - Taxi Driver. It's a famous line, but the scene is so so.

I loved that part in Taxi Driver when Travis says, "I'll make him an offer he can't refuse."

Aw, heck. I was trying to make through the entire first round without a mistake.

Little help from a moderator? Can someone change "Raging Bull" to "Taxi Driver"?

I voted Taxi Driver.
De Niro's facial knob was in it's early stages. I've done some minor acting that's required a soliloquy so I know that this is a difficult scene to pull off on a set.

One might say that Jennifer Connolly's scene would be more difficult in front of a set but I suspect body doubles may have been involved and there is no dialogue.

I wonder what the body doubles got paid. That must be an interesting chain of events on set.

"Okaaay, cut! Great starting scene, Jennifer. You can go back to your trailer now. Are the body doubles ready? Megan, Ashley, you ready? Okay, get in there and share that sex toy. Sound guys ready? Lighting guys ready? Best boys and key grips ready? Caterer ready? Okay, let's roll, and I have a feeling that this is going to require a whole lot of takes."

And now that I think about it, how many takes did it require? Were those body doubles doing that for twelve hours while they worked to get the lighting just right?

I enjoy your naivete. There are tens of thousands of broads in "Hollywood" who would perform far more impressive acts for very little money.

You can see that scene live every weekend down at the Guitar Center..

What about that classic scene in Goodfellas when Jimmy says "I have nipples, Greg. Could you milk me?"
