Will the Chiefs make the playoffs this season?

No, i dont like the trade, but thats what this move indicates to me. Reid sees a team that can win right now. If they dont make the playoffs, its another wasted year.

It appears Reid isnt willing anymore to go through the ups and downs of a young rookie QB.

Sigh.......

I believe that Reid didn't think this particular class had a rookie QB he was willing to go with.

After all, he drafted McNabb and the fans in Philly were ready to ride him out on a rail.

He trades for Smith and the fans in KC are ready to do the same thing.

Both moves will see multiple playoff appearances.

Starting to see a pattern...

Reid was 13-14 years younger when he drafted McNabb. This just looks like hes not willing to go through the trials and tribulations of developing a young guy anymore.

Their were plenty of question marks about McNabb when he came out as well.

I don't believe that at all.

Reid doesn't care what fans think...that's obvious. It is also obvious that he didn't hold the same regard for G. Smith the fanboys on this site do.

He essentially was gonna use the second pick to take Wilson, Manuel, or Bray or trade it for A. Smith.

He chose the latter. I think it was the proper choice.

then you are a ****ing reerun. shut the **** up, because no one should love mediocrity this much. the chiefs just traded two draft picks for the same QB that was already on the roster. "i want a qb who's been in the league because i'm too scared to draft one." that's you, you ****ing moron. you'd settle on one of the worst starting qbs in the league, because some dipshit at espn told you there isn't a good qb in this class.

i'll tell you what, i'll admit i'm wrong, and apologize to you ****ing down syndrome babies that don't get it, when A.Smith outperforms every qb in this draft. you understand that, or is that thought too complex for your obviously learning disabled brain? even though i am of the super bowl or bust mentality, i'm so ****ing confident this loser will fail miserably, i don't even need him to get to the super bowl for me to admit i'm wrong. i guarantee there will be a qb, from this draft class, that outperforms him, that we passed on, because we were taking the "wait and see" approach. **** that. i've waited, and i've seen. i'm done.

Well, bye.

And A. Smith will outperform every QB in the draft this year. Only one "may" end up starting this year.

If JC stays healthy and averages 150 ypg maybe? Alex Smiff just needs to hand off the ball to JC and playaction now and then. We can go to the playoffs despite Alex Smiff also get our ass kicked in the playoffs do to Alex Smiff lack luster abilities to put up points.

I really don't think it's going be a playoff team with Alex Smiff 6-10 team. 8-8 hoora rejoice and be glad in it.

Honestly, i think they might make the playoffs with Smith. But they wont win a title. So whats the point?

Is the point just get to the playoffs or to win it all? Im tired of just "settling"

I have too much St Louis Cardinal philosophy in me. Win and get in often enough and good things happen.

Look at Baltimore last year...If Denver's CB/safety doesn't just go to sleep on a play we are all still talking about whether Flacco is an "elite" QB or not. Baltimore got lucky and rode the Ray Lewis motivation all the way to the top.

The NY Giants did the same thing a few years ago. They snuck into the playoffs after being .500 for most of the year, got hot, and won the whole thing.

Point is, you have to get into the playoffs to win the superbowl.

Great only thing is that Baltimore and New York had there own top 10 QB they drafted themselves and they are the ones to turn on their game play.

Said the same thing. It's the 90's all over again. We'll be too afraid to even watch the playoffs.

There's nothing wrong with disagreeing. The problem is that the positive people yesterday seemed to be really disagreeable about it. What I mean is that they didn't just say "calm down people, you're overreacting. I think it's a great move, here's why!" They were insulting people left and right. I know I got called an idiot a bunch of times, and it certainly wasn't in reaction to anything I said (meaning I wasn't attacking anybody). Then the people you'd expect on the negative side of the line started reacting in kind, and it was ugly for the rest of the day.

There's also a problem with someone (or multiple someones) creating a number of mult accounts and trolling basically all day every day under various new (i.e. january and february) handles. Hasn't been a great atmosphere on the planet, even before yesterday.

I haven't done either of those things tho. I honestly believe Reid doesn't hold G. Smith in high regard and chose A. Smith over the rest of the Qb's left (that would have cost us the 2nd pick anyway).

I didn't call you or anyone else an idiot. It is my opinion that this move will result in playoff appearances...It is what Deberg asked in the OP.
