Life Thinking of switching from DTV to Dish - Page 3

After 17 years with Direct Tv I am probably going to switch to Dish. Any one know of the best deal out there or tips on switching. CP usually has someone that knows the best way.

All of my equipment is out of date and I just got my bill for $140 and thought that I may have to play the game and switch to dish to get the new subscriber deals and new equipment. I have a friend that switches every 2 years and always has top of the line equipment and a bill that is half of what I pay. We need 5 boxes (2HD DVR)

Tips tricks Ideas???

Or just switch back and forth from DTV to Dish every 2 years like you mentioned.

Ok, So after 3 calls and 3.5 hrs here is what I got.
They brought my bill down 41$ a month for the first year then it goes up 20$.
$200 visa gift card, NFL sunday ticket Max, add the 2 recievers genie and genie mini, and on demand on all tv's.

I guess keep nice and friendly and be patient and you might get some where. It did help that I've been with them for 15 years also. So I guess 2 more years of Direct tv

The Supervisor told me to call after the 12 mos and they would probably be able to give me more discounts to try to avoid the $20 increase.

I just don't grasp the concept of their billing as they try to make it as confusing as possible and I think it costs people that do not call in yearly money.
