Rolle awaits possible suspension

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Ravens are waiting to hear what action the NFL will take against former Tennessee Titans cornerback Samari Rolle because of his domestic violence case.

Rolle, the team's top free-agent signing on defense this offseason, agreed to probation and anger management counseling nearly four months ago to settle assault charges, making him subject to disciplinary action by the league.

"We will wait for the league to address it," coach Brian Billick told The (Baltimore) Sun. "We've been prepared for the possibility that it could be a suspension. But we have been given no indication what it might be or when they will address it."

Rolle was arrested after an altercation with his wife in Brentwood, Tenn., on Feb. 15. Danisha Rolle was treated and released from a local hospital for a cut over her left eye.

Police said Rolle hit his wife during an argument, but Danisha Rolle never pressed charges.

Penalties in similar cases have usually resulted in either one- or two-game suspensions from the NFL.
