The Chiefs, however, now have one of the NFL’s youngest group of receivers, all 24 years old or younger.

Reid’s West Coast-style offense is very scheme-driven. His play designs are what dictate which receivers get open and get targeted. Very rarely do the Chiefs ask receivers to line up and just beat defenders one-on-one. Instead, Reid builds plays that exploit predicted coverages. You don’t need expensive receivers to do this, just reliable ones. Chris Conley and Albert Wilson types. (And to really drive the point home, you could argue that you don’t need an expensive quarterback, either. A steady, cautious veteran like Smith will do. You can use your cap savings at quarterback to load up your defense.)

That quote suggests that there will be a lot more pressure on the receiving corps to get out of the bottom 5 in dropped passes then.

The more I think about it the better I feel about giving our young guys a chance to prove themselves. Let's see what we have before the Mahomes era begins.

Although, and I know this prob isn't a popular statement around here any longer, I would kick the tires on DGB if he's let go. Kids young still and has plenty of talent. Not to mention if Josh Gordon became available he'd be perfect for Mahomes and Hill, these three along with Kelce would give defenses absolute fits!
