DayZ

With the DayZ standalone playable alpha release looming, I thought I would check out the mod version of the game. http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/

If you dont know, DayZ is an open world survival zombie game modification based off of the military sim ArmA 2 games. www.dayzmod.com

Basically its hardcore mode survival against zombies and even more dangerous, other players.

I have been watching vids for months and took advantage of a steam sale today to pick up ArmA 2.

Anyone playing DayZ right now? Servers? Thoughts? I have a teamspeak we can use!

I was having some problems running shadowplay while I played archeage so I turned it off last night. Hopped into DayZ without it turned on and of course had my epic encounter where I was ungeared, claimed friendly, and was set upon by a mosin guy and a pick axe guy. I took some pickaxe blows, and mike tysoned both of those mofos and made out like a bandit.

Of course, no shadowplay on :/

the Makers of Arma/DayZ series are having a 15 year aniversary sale on Steam. I picked up arma 2 and some DLC.

DayZ is even on sale for 25 bucks.

Why don't you ever play Breaking Point?

Arma 3 engine is infinity times better, loot is better. And there are vehicles.

7 man firefight ended in 6 dead. I was the lone survivor and killed the 4 other guys that weren't Falx and kcxiv. My heart is still pounding a few minutes later.

WHAT A RUSH!

I haven't followed this game closely but it looks pretty fun. I need something to bridge the gap until The Division comes out. This game worth it?

DayZ

Personally I would only say yes if you have a dedicated group to play with. Some people like lone-wolfing it, but to me the game is boring as hell playing by myself.

That being said, you're welcome to run with the CP crew.

We have CP people playing almost every night. All you need is a group of two to exponentially increase your fun.

So yea, for 25 bucks, its worth it

I've played it but don't have anyone to play with so it's boring.

****ing w00t!!!

I server hopped long enough to get a handgun and some ammo. I switched onto a populated server and set off to Solnichny. I come into the buildings just in front of the bridge where people like to pick off new spawns... and head into the building.

I get to the top and see a guy camping. I come around to get behind him and by the time I got there he was gone. I figured he fell off the building so no big deal. I come back around and go back in only to see him spawn back in behind me.

I had my .45 out so I shot him and killed him. I took his gun and his M4 which was completely decked out with a tripod and ACOG. I then get the **** out of dodge because I hear gunfire. When I get out into the woods and check out my inventory.. I find this.

I killed a hacker!
