This was a tremendous game, but I think you have to give the biggest amount of credit to the coaching staff. They did an absolutely awesome job of scheming and taking advantage of the 49ers weaknesses all game.

Hermgletary is a ****ing embarrassment. His team lacks discipline and poise, their playcalling was hilariously predictable. Anthony Davis single-handedly murdered several drives with his stupidity and lack of maturity, which is one of the reasons why he dropped on draft day. That said, you can’t take away from the effort of the D, especially the front 7 in stopping the run.

Alex Smith both played horrible and was made to look horrible. He makes Dilfer look like Manning.

DJ was all over Vernon Davis’ ass today. Kudos to Smith for almost never challenging him, though.

There are some caveats from the game, but I think we all know what they are.

The biggest thing I took from this game is that Shaun Smith should be starting over Tyson Jackson. We are a better defense with him in there, period.

DJ and Belcher are huge upgrades in the middle over Williams and Mays. They really helped to stifle the run game.

Brandon Flowers continues to play like a Pro Bowler. Charles continues to show why he should be a situational back at best.

Moeaki turned on GOD MODE today. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Haley, Weis, and Crennel get A+s.

I cannot overstate how awesome of a job they did today, nor can I understate the quality of game that JC played.

Our OL is playing so, so much better than last year. Wiegmann is light years better than Nice Cock, and B-Rich, despite his weekly bad penalty, is a tremendous upgrade on the right side. Branden Albert is also becoming one of the best run blocking tackles in football.

Ultimately, this is one of the great things about rebuilding through the draft. It’s like getting an infusion of talent without having to add anyone in the offseason. Our 2008 draft class made the leap.

We just own the 49ers here.

How did the Saints get contained by this defense? It's absolute trash. Even Seattle tore them up.

Our coaching staff came up with an excellent, excellent game plan though. It was very impressive.

Albert played a Hell of a game today. Good pass pro and he was straight slaughtering multiple people at once on a few big run plays.

I think some of it was because, as Simmons said in a podcast, they were uber-vanilla.

This 49er team has 2007 Chiefs written all over it right now.

Terrible QB play, stubborn and stupid coaching staff, and a defense that has talented players but lacks discipline.

When i looked at this team at the start of the year, the best i could see them doing was to have a great run offense, few playmakers on offense and an awesome secondary. never in my wildest dreams did i think our rush defense would be anything but terrible.. HUUUUGE props to Romeo, but also to Dorsey, Smith, DJ and the other members of the front for stepping it up..

We also executed tremendously well today. The blocking was phenomenal, especially on the edges.

McCluster's TD was a team effort. Great play call, but awesome blocking on the edge to spring him, which made sure he only had to beat his guy.
