Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

Does anyone here truly believe that if Cassel had been in San Francisco in 2011 and 2012, the results would have been exactly the same?
Cassel was placed in two ideal situations in NE and KC in 2008 and 2010 and produced win totals similar to Alex Smith.

It's not like he was doing anything Cassel hasn't done before. Outside the playoff game, of course.

Seriously, chill the **** out. It's a long time to September.
I don't care about Geno as much as I expect these guys to find a quarterback from all of college that is better than Alex Smith. I've said all along that I don't care if they pass on Geno, so long as they take a quarterback.

I cant believe that you, of all people, think this move was okay.

NO OTHER TEAM WAS WILLING TO PART WITH TWO PICKS, BUT WE GIVE UP TWO SECOND ROUNDERS AND YOU DEFEND THE PICK AT EVERY TURN?

Andy Reid better be able to turn water into wine.

I must have missed that playoff comeback from Cassel.

The problem with trading for Smith isn't that he completely sucks. It's that he's not good enough to build a dynasty around, but he's good enough you'll never draft in the zone those guys get picked in.

We will win 8-11 games a year with Smith, and unless our defense gets CRAZY good have our typical playoff result.

Keep making excuses. The Niners were a far better offense with Kaepernick and his ability to get more out of Crabtree was a big reason why.

It's going to depend how they use Smith. If they structure it around him instead of forcing him into a round hole, they could be very successful. However, if they do what Reids offenses normally do, throwing it 30 pluss times, it could go a couple ways.

However, if you view the Smith move as a win now move, it doesn't make sense that they would let Bowe and especially Albert walk. Kind of cross thread talk, but it seems if thats the case they're gonna need to keep Albert as a rookie LT could cause things to get a little hairy, especially one that struggles with power rushers.

The 49ers were a far better offense because of Kaepernick and the read option. It had nothing to do with who got the bulk of the receptions- Davis or Crabtree.

Kaepernick is a superior QB.

You just keep grasping at bullshit straws here. "The 49ers offense was better with Crabtree getting touches instead of Vernon Davis."

Blah, blah, ****ing blah.

If they were offering I'd take Kaepernick over Smith, but I right now I'm not gonna complain about going from no QB, and that's what Cassel is, to a middle of the pack, starting level QB.
