Or spend a bit more and bring in Torii Hunter as well. We need RH pop. |

The guy had the biggest aberration year since Chase Headley. I'd want no part of him, especially since he just got a QO. He was incredibly lucky, and if it wasn't just luck, he was gassed out of his mind. Whoever signs him is a fool. |

You know who the Royals need? Evan Gattis. Rumor is the Braves are willing to move him. He can spell Perez behind the plate while murdering LHP. Murdering.

Gattis would be a great guy to get, but they'll probably have to give up something significant to get him. He's been a 20+ HR guy and he only has played about 100 games a year, and he's under control cheap until 2018. He's really not good defensively anywhere, but he can play LF too. That's why I wonder if they'll give him up. Justin Upton and Heyward are FA's next year. They may end up just putting Gattis in LF. Hard to throw away a cheap 20 HR guy. But he would be a fantastic DH that you could shift behind the plate.

That's the thing. You can DH him for 120 games a year while spelling Perez's knees for another 30 or so. Given where the Royals are at, giving up something significant might be worth it. |

Yeah I agree. I like it. But I like the idea of having a masher at DH. I know everyone wants to leave the DH spot open to rotate guys through... but I like having a power hitter there.

I really expected after 2012 that he had found it. But 2014 was his worst. I think he picks it up from his performance this year but he clearly will never have above average power. |

Well if he wants to stay he needs to realize he'll be a part time DH, a backup 1B, and a bench bat.

For 4-5 million you can stay. Take it or leave it.
