No point in D/L'ing day 1...

I'll wait to hear some reviews first.

Unless it can help my arcade scores....

Running it right now. Appears to work fine except I hate the fact that none of my favorite extensions work

I hate that. Always gotta wait a few months before they enable alot of the extensions. It's pretty silly too because most of the time it's not any real compatibility issues they just have to "turn on" that version.

Based on two hours of use and some quick comparisons between 3.0, 3.5, and Chrome, 3.5 is much faster than 3, and actually ranks up there with Chrome*. FF 3 didn't seem to handle Facebook very well, but it's incredibly fast in 3.5. Take it FWIW over 2 hours, and I haven't had more than 5 or 6 tabs open at the same time, but I love it so far... and I've been watching memory usage, too, and it hasn't freaked out yet.

*This is based on the Unix build of FF 3 & 3.5 using Ubuntu; and Chromium, which is the unofficial Unix build of Chrome.

There seems to be a workaround for it, but after I made the changes, the address bar wouldn't hold any values (it worked, but it's blank when the home tabs load, etc.). I switched back, because the only thing I'm really missing is Duplicate Tab... and you're probably running Windows, so it might work for you without any strange side effects....

It does seem to run alot faster than 3 and my memory usage isn't bad either. Right now it is consuming 130 mb

Here's the official "new stuff" list:

Quote:
Firefox 3.5 is based on the Gecko 1.9.1 rendering platform, which has been under development for the past year. Firefox 3.5 offers many changes over the previous version, supporting new web technologies, improving performance and ease of use. Some of the notable features are:

* Available in more than 70 languages. (Get your local version!)
* Support for the HTML5 video and audio elements including native support for Ogg Theora encoded video and Vorbis encoded audio. (Try it here!)
* Improved tools for controlling your private data, including a Private Browsing Mode.
* Better web application performance using the new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine.
* The ability to share your location with websites using Location Aware Browsing. (Try it here!)
* Support for native JSON, and web worker threads.
* Improvements to the Gecko layout engine, including speculative parsing for faster content rendering.
* Support for new web technologies such as: downloadable fonts, CSS media queries, new transformations and properties, JavaScript query selectors, HTML5 local storage and offline application storage, canvas text, ICC profiles, and SVG transforms.

Developers can find out about all the changes and new features at the Mozilla Developer Center.
The geo location thing is downright creepy.

Mine was staying under 100, and after opening a couple of new tabs it's now hovering around 110-115... still needs to triple before getting to v3's ridiculousness.

I used to snag these the day they came out but since I moved to OSX I've found myself always coming back to Safari. It doesn't have the extensions that FF has but for some reason FF just seemed bigger, slower and bloated.

The good thing is the browser race is intense and they're leaving MS behind. Which is nothing but good.

I wonder if this will win me back.
