After this non-event iPhone 5 release that is the way I'm leaning. I was waiting for some news on release day to make me want to switch to the iPhone, but there wasn't any. More of the same.

I'm due on October 1st and I'm hoping to know at that point whether the Note 2 will be coming to Sprint. It's gigantic for a phone, but I mostly use my phone as a multimedia device now anyway. Most of my phone conversations are bluetooth hands free in my car. Rumor is the Note 2 is going to have quad core Exynos and reviews so far have all been positive if you're down with the size.

I'm also going to get the note II. I've been eligible for an uprade for 3 months, but was waiting to see what the iPhone 5 had to offer. Now I'm just hoping the Note II is available on AT&T on Oct 15.

I think Texas and MAYBE KC has it. Sprint is about 2 or 3 years behind Verizon in total LTE infrastructure. WiMax is dead

WiMax is FAR from dead. That's crazy talk. It is dying for sure. But saying it's dead implies that the millions of devices no longer work and no longer have damn fast speeds. They still work and they are still fast. I don;t know of any set in stone plan to decommission the WiMax network.


As for Sprint LTE they currently are online in 19 metropolitan areas across Kansas, Georgia, Texas and Missouri. AND will have full coverage in TWO years. With 100 more cities online in the next few (my guess is 6) months.

In a perfect world, I'd like to see Sprint offer dual-access phones that can load balance both LTE and WiMax. That would be pretty freaking awesome and would blow the DOORS off anything else on the market.

Sprint is the only company that uses WiMax and they no longer are progressing its technology. All the new handsets are primed for LTE. LTE has the obvious edge in speed and penetration, not to mention will be the global standard. Basically the entire industry has given up on WiMax. It was cool 4 years ago but so was myspace. Go ahead and read the very first sentence of this article written almost a year ago.

Sprint is unbelievably retched in Los Angeles. 3G at best but usually no internet connection. Continual dropped calls. If we didn't have the employee plan through a family member, I'd drop it in a heartbeat.

And I hate the iPhone 4s. It's ridiculously heavy in an Otterbox, the battery doesn't stay charged for more than 4 hours and I constantly delete emails by accident.

Big time buyer's remorse.

I have heard this now from multiple sources. I never saw it in San Diego(all over that area) or Santa Monica.. but I never went inland from the Santa Monica/Venice area so I wasn't exactly the best test case.

They need to fix that shit. Not just because of the size of LA, but simply because it is so influential in the media.
