The guy's the worst kind of full of shit.
You would think that with eleventy billion posts on this site that some football knowledge would accidentally end up in his brain. Nope. Instead he just keeps up his moronic meme that Smith sucks because he doesn't throw the ball far. That's a take that a reeruned six year old would have.

Exactly!

All this shitkicking going on as of late to whether AS is a good QB or not, should wait until after the season is over. We have games (important games) to play fellas. AS is our warhorse right now and we have an invitation to the playoffs so let's live in the now.

Just as it was when the pro Alex Smith guys were using it, using wins and loses to justify an individual players worth is asinine.

Look at the Texans this year. Watt is probably the best defensive player in the entire NFL and plays for a team who will likely have the first overall pick.

So some of you guys are only going to give Smith this years playoffs to prove himself? if he doesn't win a game it was a failure of a season and he no chance to ever win another playoff game??

I really don't want to get into this argument, but I have to say something.

The overwhelming majority of the posters who have "defended" Alex Smith from the get-go are also the posters who take any and every opportunity to bash QB's like Ryan, Peyton, Romo and Rivers (among others) for being "playoff chokers".

So why exactly is is OK to judge other QB's by playoff wins, but not AS?

Oh jesus, that's rich.

Some of these guys won't give him a chance to prove himself unless he wins the damn Super Bowl.

'Because championships are all that matters' or some other such absurdity.

Guy took a 2 win team to an 11 (and counting) win season and in so doing will account for 4k yards of total offense with a 90+ passer rating and these assclowns are still just waiting for him to lose so they can savage the guy.

For over 60 NFL starts he's been exactly this quarterback. A guy that's going to give you a 90ish passer rating, a 60% completion percentage and isn't going to turn the ball over. And for some this kind of QB essentially grows on trees and has next to no value.

Makes sense.

Trust me the goalposts will get moved again and again and again. If we win the SB the three little haters will say that it was a fluke and they won't give him props until he wins a second one. Claynus would even start a thread proclaiming that AS is the worst QB to ever win a SB.

Short answer?

Your thesis is incorrect.

100% true. Alot of guys on here are just waiting for him to fail so they can pull an "I told ya so"

I'm not saying he's Manning or even close, but he's a damn solid QB. relax and enjoy the moment.

So you're saying that people here HAVEN'T bashed Manning, Rivers, Ryan, etc because they have average/below average/poor playoff records?

I wonder if we're visiting the same website, because it's been constant for YEARS.

You claimed that the group of folks defending Smith is largely the SAME group that bashes these other quarterbacks. That's the type of statistical assertion that really should be supported by data. Otherwise, people might think you are full of ****.

Does anybody on this site say that they would not take those QBs on this team in a heartbeat and that they suck?

Then what's your point?

It's like you don't even watching the ******** games, all you do is whine and bitch. You don't care about Chiefs winning football games, you care about Madden stat padding. The chiefs are going to finish the season well over .500, a chance to still clinch the division, and you are crying like a little girl because Alex won't post 4k yards. You look at football as if its checkers, when it is chess.

I'm saying that these aren't by and large the same people that have backed Alex Smith.

I've long been one of the loudest "Manning over Brady" guys. I've touted Rivers for years when everyone else hated him. I've never been a huge Ryan fan, but that's not because of his playoff record; I just think he's a little overrated.

And many are in the same boat as I am.

Like I said - I think your thesis is flawed. There are people that slam that group, sure, but that particular group isn't limited to Alex Smith fans, nor are Alex Smith fans by disproportionately a part of that group.

You're trying to create a boogeyman here that doesn't exist.
