Former Chiefs running back Larry Johnson is being sued in Kansas City by a woman who says he spat on her in a bar. But Johnson says he needs to move the trial out of Kansas City because it would be impossible to find 12 people there who don’t despise him.

Johnson’s lawyer, Jack T. Bangert, told a judge Wednesday that folks in Kansas City hate his client with such a passion that he could never get a trial in front of an impartial jury there.

“If we can’t get a change of venue in this case, it is insurmountable,” Bangert said. “We want to go anywhere but here.”

Bangert showed the judge newspaper articles, web posts and affidavits from two talk-show hosts, all attesting to how much Chiefs fans hate Johnson.

However, the plaintiff’s lawyer says those concerns are overblown, and that Johnson isn’t as famous (or infamous) in Kansas City as he thinks he is.

“We all know people in Kansas City who are not Chiefs fans who have never heard of Larry Johnson,” lawyer Charles Speer said.

The judge will rule later on whether Johnson is really so despised in Kansas City that the case has to be moved elsewhere.

LJ gave all he had for KC (darn near setting a team record) and he just got caught up in the numbers. He is an older back and the NFL is a young mans game. This is what happens when you give your football life to one team. LJ begged to leave KC several times to play on better teams but Herm and Todd wouldn't let him.

JC did OK this year, he fell on his face when he was needed most but he had a OK season. I have no problem with him, but he is just another runningback to me.

Hali is just as good as Allen just without all the DUIs.

Neither one of them will be a game changer like DT was.

I have a question, how many of you went to Arrowhead and paid your respects to DT when he died? You know ... walked up to the casket sitting in the endzone?

This has nothing to do with DT, we all have paid our respects to him in some fashion.

LJ was a cancer to the team, he did not give his all the last two seasons after he got his big contract. He went out during the seasons getting drunk, making an Ass of himself then spit on a girl & getting charges brought up against him. He has disrespected Clark Hunt & the KC Chiefs & the fans. He set back this franchise 3 - 4 years for us to be competitive for the playoffs.

JC "ok" wtf? He damn near broke Jim Browns NFL record for rushing ypc.
