Help On a tech question

Buying a new computer and trying to decide to get XP Media Cneter edition or Home Edition. Does the Media Center edition have Outlook Express? How many works programs are there in the media edition? Can I upgrade. Going to use media edition for DVD burning and CD burning and gaming. Any help would be appreciated!

Outlook Express is a free microsoft product that comes with all MS products. Unless they've changed something.

You can always upgrade your productivity suite.

It would be more difficult to find an MS machine w/o Outlook Express. Are you planning on using this machine as a Media box, to play movies, music, record TV? Or are you going to just play games and burn stuff? If it is the later you may be smarter to see what software comes with the burner you buy, or pick up Nero Ultra on sale for ~$40.

Media Center Edition is XP Pro, to the feature, with a few visual enhancements and the Media Center program. If you have any intention of integrating your computer with your home theater, I'd go with MCE. The media center is made to be viewed on a TV or HDTV and run by remote control.
And I'm guessing that, if you're buying a new computer with MCE included, it's gonna have pretty much all you need to intergrate with your HT, quality vid card, TV Tuner, maybe FM tuner, maybe HDTV Tuner, etc.

Can't recommend the HDTV Wonder in MCE enough!!! Heaven, pure heaven.
