It's easy to **** with that and hate on it if you've been paying attention. There would be no trade up for Mahomes if Alex were as important as you're suggesting. You have the football understanding of an adolescent. I used to rank QBs by wins in like 2nd grade.

Those excuses are going to exist every year. Injuries are going to happen. If we make the playoffs I promise you some good players will be banged up or not there. We can start with putting Ware on that list.

You can point to plays in every game that officials got wrong and where players failed. It's not going to change. Unless Smith is able to overcome some of that he isn't going deep in the playoffs.

The Chiefs never should have needed that 2 point conversion. That call shouldn't have even mattered.

Look, everyone wants more TDs. Everyone wants a more aggressive passing approach when facing off against the top teams of the League come playoff time. All of us want this. When this doesn't happen.. the difference of opinion is where to allocate blame.. and how much blame.

When the team wins, it is hardly "all cuz of Smith." This belief gets misunderstood.. because what is suggested is this: People state QB is the most important position in football. Okay sure. People see that KC wins what? top 3 among all teams over these recent years? This means that our starter.. at the most important position in football.. is part of the team's win success. Is he a huge part? most say no.. but being as he is the player of the most important position on the team? his impact is bigger than most must think.

In another words. If Smith... the player.. at the most important position.. is part of the team's winning success? It's hard to **** with that, or hate on that. Doing this for 4 consecutive years? after two more consecutive years elsewhere? Yeah, that ain't no fluke.

Absolutely.. which is another GREAT reason to embrace the Mahomes era.

I hope everyone is on board with the inevitable "Smith isn't here anymore, guys.. so shut the **** up about him and move on!" comments. I will be saying the words.. and many others will be too.

I wouldn't have asked the stupid question if you wouldn't have written "fantasy TD's be damned." Kind of gives the impression that you think the only purpose a TD serves is for FF. Another Alexcuse for you Alex homers..."we don't want our Shitty QB throwing a bunch of TD's because that'd make him another fantasy stud!!!" As if being a good FF QB is a bad thing.

A team that has won a lot with a QB that throws 15 TD's is absolutely indicative that the QB/team is being carried quite a bit by their supporting cast. Smith would have been 2-14 with the Browns last year.

And don't act like you are ready to embrace the Mahomes era, whistle-britches... IF you stay around (you will likely follow Alex), it will be to hate on the Chiefs, particularly Mahomes. We can see right through your shit, McGlibbets.

Your reading comprehension is as pathetic as your decision to register here to even continue discussing Smith.

Alex is getting old, brain-whacked, and not hanging around much longer. KC would have been irresponsible to NOT make finding an heir apparent a strong priority. Smith is also the second highest paid player on the roster. They didn't and don't have to keep paying him so much. They do and did it because he is important.

GFY, 49ers chump. Follow your own ****ing team. Smith is not ever going to apologize for bending your GF over and wiping his dick on her curtains on the way out.

Smitty deserves plenty of blame for playoff losses but lets not act like his supporting cast has been great in the playoffs.. It hasn't...

I disagree.

Chief fans are as passionate as they come but they doesn't necessarily mean they are 'easiest it gets when it comes to pleasing.' In fact they are so passionate I think it is actually the opposite. I mean Cassel got booed when he got hurt, at a charity gm, etc.. Chief fans can be brutal. Cassel sucked but those incidents were a little unnecessary IMO. Not to mention all the bad s**t said about Hali and Charles the minute they do something you guys don't like. So I don't think Chief fans are that easy to please.

Arguably the most passionate fans in the NFL would be more accurate. Great fans overall, better be, I'm one of them

Smitty has already said he wants to keep playing and his agent has made it pretty clear he is ready to do it elsewhere if necessary next season. He enjoys the game.

Smitty is the present this year but I think the odds of him being a Chief next season are slim to none. I think both sides are ready to move on.
How long have you been actually posting here PA? I see that your join date is 2014, but it seems like I have only seen you posting the last few months. The reason I ask is that your posts about it not being all Smith's fault reminded me of a thread that I started after the playoff loss called Ten reasons why the Chiefs lost. I think that it fairly spread the blame around to all who were deserving. If you haven't read it, here is a link. I definitely laid part of the blame at Smith's feet, but I didn't give everyone else a pass. I think that you will find that this thread lines up with your view.

It would be funny if Mahomes starts against Buffalo and we beat them with their 10th overall pick.

Besides, he will never admit it but I am sure he is ready to move on as much as the Chiefs are. Would you care about pleasing a fan base that blames you for basically everything bad and gives little to no credit for anything good the Chiefs do? I know I wouldn't.. I'd just go out there and play and that's what he needs to do. I'd care about my teammates and coaches and as a competitor doing my absolute best to win the game but that is it.

If fans don't want me here and constantly talk sh*t on me then I damn sure would not be playing for them or playing to stay in KC. That's just part of being a human being.
Smith doesn't give a **** about what the fans think, nor should he. If he can't thicken his armor and fight harder with Mahomes and a disgruntled fan base breathing down his neck, if he can't dig deeper and produce something beyond his usual contribution, then get this middling pussylips the **** off my field so we can start the juiced-up youngster who is absolutely unafraid to swing his dick ALL OVER that field.

That leaves the Fade at home and at the Giants. We should be able to hand the Fade another loss at Arrowhead, but the Giants are tough. And for his first game as starter, that would probably be a loss,

The new Alex11 should be winning games by decisive margins, not losing by 2 points as we did twice last year. If he is not preforming as a "playmaker" and putting 20+ points (not including defense and special teams) on the board every game, we need to have PMll15 ready to go, fully to speed, up on game planning, turbos spun up, ready to lead for the remainder of the season.

I don't know how the Chiefs are rated below Oakland and L.A. and predicted to be in the playoffs whereas we are not. Is it really Alex11's play holding us back, and if it is, are we going to react sooner vs. later?

Alex 11 should not only beat them but do so decisively and the Broncos too in the first half of the season or I feel that PMll15 will be leading a team during the 2nd half. Hopefully Alex 11 can come through for the Chiefs but, if need be, we should not hesitate to turn it over to PMll15 to lead us to an AFCW Championship and possibly beyond where Joe Montana attempted to get us.

I hope Alex's preseason training works well for us but I have come to the rationaization that the old dog has not learned new tricks. From the preseason, certainly has not shown to have mastered them. I for one am rooting for Alex11 to have a great year but if he is not I say kick him to the curb before we loose our season!
Weird so... what is this new Alex11 what's the basis as to why he (not the Chiefs) should be winning by decisive margins?

20+ points in addition to what the D/ST put up... staggering. Hell, you might as well just start the rookie, your final big leap above has compared him to a late 30s Joe Montana. What are you waiting for man? Release the greatness!

Lost Ware, Maclin... depleted RBs and unknown entities at WR. #goodluck

I'm not crazy about the idea. Mahomes is still at a point in his development where he can learn a lot on the bench and with practice reps. Once he gets past that point then yeah. What I saw in the preseason, the dude is willing to take hits. I'd much rather the game slow down for him so he can get rid of the ball quicker and make smarter decisions on throwaways. I also mentioned in another thread that tech was a big user of vr to simulate game situations. I'd bet mahomes is still using it and that will help him get the kind of mental training that used to be much more difficult to simulate.
