Just found this article while looking around and reading up on KU's new AD, Jeff Long. Hopefully, Long can find someone like a Mangino. Reading the comments on this makes me believe that Lew Perkins really helped to derail Mangino's final season and push him out.

I mean, the guy isn't even freaking coaching anywhere and how many openings are there yearly for qualified to good football coaches?!? you can't tell me the guy wouldn't be coaching if anyone thought he'd bring their program to the (heh) heights of Ku football that one time?

That tiny stadium wouldn't have affected Mizzou

We won in much louder stadiums and tougher environments than Lawrence

The only difference is that the stadium would have been dead silent when Reesing ate the turf.
