I'm not saying I think that drafting a QB high in the draft is stupid, I agree with drafting one. It should have been done decades ago. I'm just trying to be devil's advocate here. As Chiefs fans we all know that what is obvious doesn't always go hand in hand with our team.

Does anyone remember those draft commercials that showed the Texans without an offensive line or something like that. We need one without a QB...
I don't understand why everyone is so down on Geno. People were down on McNabb too, and I'd love to draft a player like that. |

We take anything at #1 that isn't a QB and I'm done.

If Pioli is here next year, he trades for Alex Smith, and drafts Star or Teo #1.

There is nobody to trade for like 2009. In 2009, getting Cassel was a big deal, and we got him for a steal. That move and the contract that followed was a joke. There isn't a "Matt Cassel" out there this year. Where is the backup who is lighting the world on fire that would command a trade. Frankly if they want to sign Alex Smith to a two year deal I'm fine with that so long as we drafted a QB in the 1st round. Like it or not, this team needs multiple QBs.

And if we were not to draft a QB (which would be stupid IMO), I'd rather draft a CB or DE instead of a ILB, which isn't a big need. We can upgrade ILB in FA or in the middle of the draft.

There's isn't a CB or DE really worth the #1 overall pick either. MAYBE Damontre Moore at DE or Milliner at CB but that's about it.

Looks like 2008 was the last time a QB did not go #1 overall.
IN retrospect, Matt Ryan should have been, because Miami selected Jake Long over him and where has that gotten them?

1. Kansas City: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah My take: We all know the Chiefs need a quarterback badly and we all know there are no great quarterback choices available at the top of the draft. So, this pick works. He would be another fine player on a potentially good defense. Perhaps the Chiefs could find a bridge veteran quarterback and take someone like North Carolina State’s Mike Glennon in the second round. ESPN just trolling now. |
