Four to two Angels. Alex Gordon scores the first run of the Royals pre-season, Berroa gets an error. Haven't been able to listen continuously so I have no info on the pitchers.

We scored the first run, they came back, we tied it at 2. They scored again. Pretty much all subs in right now.

Bannister started and pitched 2 scoreless innings, Soria came in didn't allow a run. Ken Ray and John Bale allowed the runs, if I'm not mistaken. Gordon walked and scored on a Berroa single, Teahen had a base hit and did okay in RF... German started and got on base all three times he came to the plate.

German just seems to have a knack for getting on base. Wish he could play short stop!

I imagine that's what they are thinking as well, and they want him to get as much practice at SS this spring to see if he can at least split time with Berroa.

Rick Peterson has already changed where he pitches on the mound which is definitely helping his location.

You can't blame them for wanting him, though. Twenty-two years old and a 100-mph fastball. Wow. Omar Minaya said: “Burgos saved 18 games last season. That’s all I needed to see.” Yeah Omar, but you probably needed to see that that was out of 30 opportunities.

He might develop into something, but I'd say it's at 40-60, at this point.

Yeah, I really LOL'ed at Minaya's comment when I read it.

He might turn out to be an excellent pitcher long term. I think the message Moore was sending is that A) We're not going to play the wait and see game anymore, guys who come up here better be ready to produce, and B) To be a Royal you need to have a winners attitude. To my understanding that is why both Burgos and Sisco were dealt...
