Chiefs announce Bray as the backup QB
http://arrowheadaddict.com/2016/05/2...p-quarterback/
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid made a surprising declaration on Tuesday afternoon. The Chiefs are still a little more than two months away from the start of training camp in St. Joe’s, but we already have some very interesting news on the depth chart front. Reid has proclaimed that Tyler Bray, not Aaron Murray or Kevin Hogan, is entering training camp as the primary backup quarterback to Alex Smith. Murray was a fifth-round pick back in 2014 while Hogan was a fifth-round selection in April. Despite being an undrafted free agent in 2013, Bray has stuck on the roster but never appeared or been active for a game in the regular season. He was placed on injured reserve last year after sustaining a torn ACL in a pickup basketball game. Bray has all the physical tools you could want. He’s 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds and at 24 years old, might finally be seizing the moment after sitting behind Chase Daniel and Murray. It will be fascinating to see if Bray can hold off Murray and Hogan in camp, not having thrown a competitive pass in two years. |

Hogan is pretty much locked in at 3rd string, the Chiefs are going to cut bait on either Bray or Murray this season

And Bray is still only 24. He came out when he was very young.

Find a post where I endorsed Dick Stanzi as the QBoTF. I couldn't stand him... It was okay though, because Bray eventually knocked him off the roster. Aaron Murray - exhibit II: Again, find where I have ever endorsed him about being the QBoTF. If anyting, those [few] who read my posts know I can't stand him either as I see him as another midget noodle-arm QB. Next up, Kevin Hogan....now I did start a thread on him prior to our draft more or less asking our drafturbators about him. But if you search, I immediately groaned once we drafted him... Rather, I chose to hitch my wagon to an UFA. It's easy to hitch your wagon to a mid-round QB and tout them as our future. I didn't. I chose to hitch it to an UFA...bought his [custom] jersey prior to the final cuts. [Thank you to all the little Asian kids for making my dream come true]. It's a whole lot easier being the guy on the sidelines saying it wont happen rather than being the individual to walk the plank. But only half the individuals here have the testicular fortitude to step foot on the plank...makes sense. You ARE correct though on my pimping of the Tyler Wilsons...Tannehills...etc. And I would have hitched my wagon to any of those had we drafted them... I pimp a lot of QB's during the offseason. But there are many I don't pimp nor hitch my wagon to, and that includes many of the recent QBs drafted by the Chiefs. Tyler Bray has the highest ceiling of any of the QBs on this roster. He IS the backup quarterback. He IS our QBoTF. XOxo

The way I see it:
Murray; more aggressive version of Smith. Hogan; extremely raw and shittier version of Smith. Bray; your only chance for Rapeliss-level glory. You should probably Pray for Bray. |

Drew Brees is a noodle armed midget surefire HoFer.
Physical tools do not equal success. The mental aspects and intangibles are the more important tools.

You named one in hind-sight. Nice work. Link me to where you stated this when San Diego drafted him. Then you'll leave me impressed...

I did and it was very well known that I was super high on Brees and wanted the Chiefs to take him at #12 overall in the 2001 draft.
