The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

A picture of my ankle and fairing. I've taken it off the bike, and it feels really weird.

She moved all my under the house garage out including all my motorcycles.
When it was all over she said, "I didn't know you had 6 motorcycles"
Needless to say I think after this I should sell a couple.
6? HTF do you have 6 and your wife didn't know?

I never ride with a big group. Just never been interested in that, I guess. Most I ever ride with is 3 or 4 friends. After hearing your story, I'll probably stick to that.

I walked it off, seriously. Just laced my boot up a little tighter every day

Any of you fine gentleman (or ladies) looking to buy a motorcycle in the spring or even this winter..I'm looking at selling my Road King Classic (Betty)

If anybody is interested I will break down what it is and all that is done to the bike..just curious I would rather sell to one of you guys than trade it in..I will even throw in some beer and an air freshener for your Camaro

Well then here you go

2001 Harley Davidson Road King Classic
53000 miles
Full Stage 1 kit (exhaust air cleaner and it has a Power Commander 3)
Has a larger windshield bag from T-Bags
Will come with an air shock pump
A tool kit from Harley
Passanger back rest
Saddlebag guard rail bags

Has had oil changed and all fluids changed by Mid America Harley since I have owned it

It is a good bike..this summer I put around 15000 on it..never had any trouble from it..I loaded it up and rode to Yellowstone, Texas, and out to Tail of the Dragon this past summer and never worried

As far as price goes I'm thinking $8000..price is negotiable as well..haven't even seen what blue book is on it yet

Had one guy try and quote me at 600... I thanked him for his time, but could have got a brand new fairing for half that. He dropped to 400, but yeah... 300 for a brand new fairing. I have a friend who does fiberglass body work, and he told me he'd do it for the cost of paint. I'll probably paint the whole bike. Aside from that, my brake pedal is bent a little, but still usable. Oh, the right channel on my stereo quit working. Not sure if it is the amp, or the speakers, but I was going to replace my handlebar mounted kit, with one that mounts in the fairing. Just gonna speed that process up.

If it was a larger group, I'd be out front running road captain duties. I was the fifth bike, and they were guys I'm not used to riding with. To each their own, but I love riding with my regular crew.

Yeah, it took a few days to walk right, but once I got the good news on the xrays, I pushed myself, and I'm at about 80% now. Hell, I rode my bike the day after, just to prove I could.

God dam!
This bike is giving me such a boner!
They really beefed this Scrambler up to be a true off road machine.

Same proven motor, extra travel. Wet Weight of 450lbs. Looks easy to throw around. I think this is heads over the Triumph Street Scrambler...and I am a Brit Motorcycle guy.
My wife says just get it over with and trade in the Triumph for a Ducati.
I say why not have a little Brit and a little Italian in you life.
