Not C, that's for sure. Waters probably wouldn't even yield a 7th rnd pick, dude.

If he gets a contract offer, I'm guessing we'll know their plans pretty soon.

When your team is as devoid of talent as the Chiefs, you have to be willing to look under every stone.
My only concern is the guy starts, struggles, then continues to start anyway ala Goff. As long as that doesn't happen, there is nothing bad that could come out of this. Well, provided we don't give the guy 10 milly guaranteed or some dumb shit like that. |

It means we are spending money on aging players that are almost stop gap.
Colts didn't off him because of pay. |

He's 28. Hardly aging. Plus he was due a bonus...a little over 1 million...which wasn't much, but it's not like it didn't play into their decision if they thought they had another option. It's all context.

I think it means they are going defense heavy in the draft and trying to patch some depth together on the o-line.

I'm inclined towards this view...but unsure as to whether Lilja would be excited about a depth role...regardless of whether it meant playing for the home town team or not. Is he even getting any other feelers?

Ryan Lilja is 28 years old. Mike Goff was like 48 years old when he signed onto this team last year. I'd like to think there is a little difference in that in determining how much Lilja has left. I think he could play another 4/5 years at the level he was playing at.
Of course this not considering if he actually did fail a Colts physical and there is something wrong with him, which our luck... there will be and he will fizzle out. |

Any time you can get veteran (i.e. formerly-starting) guys to get on board for decent contracts and be backups/stopgaps, it's good. So many times those guys end up playing more than you anticipated and then you're glad you had 'em around. |

Im looking at it as more competition in camp. Didn't sit well with me when I heard he failed a physical, but on the other hand, I value the experience he has. He was a 5 year starter with the Colts, and gave them solid play.
So if this move works out for the best, he gives us an added veteran on the offensive line. If it doesn't work out, and suppose a guy like Colin Brown surprises or lets say Rudy Niswanger wins the job at RG, then he gives you added depth, which to me is equally as important as adding another starter to your team. Bottomline, the signing means he improves your overall 53 man roster. |

It's hard to tell if you are serious or sarcastic, since there aren't any qualifiers on this post. (For example, if you'd ended it with !1!11!!!! then it would indicate sarcasm.)
I think you guys should have visual indicators of your level of sincerity. For example, are you talking or are you talking |
