How to view .RAR files
I've downloaded a movie, but the damn thing doesn't want to play, tried to download a codec but no luck.

It's like a .zip file, you have to unrar it first to view the files. Google Winrar and download it then right click the file and select unrar. There's another program that does rar files too but I can't remember what it's called right now.

www.rarsoft.com is the original app, but 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) will open them as well.

Okay downloaded Winrar, What process do I need to go through with WinRAR program to unrar it?

After you install winrar right click the .rar file and you can either extract it where it is or extract it to another location.

what you suggest, extract it as is or another specified location because their is a big Icon that says "Extract to"

Either one is fine. BTW you don't have to have the actual file manager part open to use it. Just to to where you saved the file in windows and right click it there.
