Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

Geno's much more likely to settle in as a decent QB than Bray. In fact, he sure looks like a guy that could turn into the next Alex Smith if he learns to read a whiteboard.

But if we can skip the development curve and get a QB with similar or better upside in Bray - why not do that?

We got Geno's much more desirable 'floor' covered by acquiring Alex and we got similar long-term upside, IMO by acquiring Bray. So from where I sit, this was a best of both worlds scenario.
Cool. Thanks.

Although I don't think some here agree with that, but I think it's mostly emotional

Vick and Foles were outstanding against Jacksonville as well.

I would go ahead and add that a QB's "floor" is the single most worthless asset he can have.

I don't want a QB with a high floor. I want one with no limit either direction. I want him to be able to be a hall of famer or a flaming bag of shit.

I don't want Chad Pennington. I don't want Matt Schaub. If he's not going to be excellent, then I want him to completely ****ing suck. This does two things:

1. Makes it completely clear he must be replaced.
2. Moves into a draft spot to replace him.

Let me put it this way. Matt Cassel's worst year as a Chief was 2010, because it bought him two more years.

I loved the Knile Davis pick at the draft. Of course I would have took Barkley 1.1.

The Knile Davis pick made a ton of sense and he's most certainly shown that he was worthy of that selection.

He'll likely be responsible for at least one win this year on special teams.

I saw it.

Just saying dude there are obvious similarities. No wonder almost everyone hated you around here. Pick something and stick with it and people will respect you more.

You don't know what we dealt with from black bob/woodchuck.etc.

Then we get a guy alexsmithfan, or whatever you were/snoopy, etc...

Another similarity. Second user name was an animal.

On that last fumble- he did have both hands on the ball- it was pretty much an excellent hit. He more than made up for it
