Rate my FF Team

I think its OK, I made some great picks, and some bad picks. I'm a little rusty...

QB: Bulger, McNair (Start One)
RB: McCallister, A. Green, Lee Suggs (Start two)
WR: Hines Ward, L. Coles, I. Bruce, K. McCardell (Start Two)
TE: L.J. Smith, Ben Thorpe (Start One)
K: Wilkins (Start One)
D: Ravens, Bears (Start One)

QB: Manning, Green, Collins and Culpepper went before I drafted at #10. So getting Bulger in the 6th round I think was good. He is in a great offense, just need to cut his INTs. McNair wast drafted in the 9th, could be a steel if he returns to form. My Rating Solid not great.

RB: I really like McCallisster and Green if they stay healthy. I wanted to draft N. Davenport but someone else drafter him. Suggs is banged up, so I don't have any depth. My Rating Great Starters, no depth.

WR: I drafted Hines Ward in the 3rd, which I thin is right where he should go. Hopefully Rothensburger passes a little more. I love the Coles pick in the 5th, being back with the Jets should be great for him. Bruce and McCardell are solding Fantasy Players. My Rating, Good Starters, Great depth.

TE: What the hell was I thinking taking L.J. Smith in the 7th? I passed on Randy McMichael who I had circled on my sheet but looked like I crossed it off. L.J. Should have a good year, but thats too high. Thorpe is OK, could be great, but who knows.

K: Wilkins, Dome kicker, high scoring offense. I like this pick where I got him in the 11th.

D: I never draft a D high, but I selected the Ravens in the 4th round. I should have waited but there just wasn't any other player that I really wanted. There were some Good WRs and OK Running backs on the board but I opted for what I think is the best defense out there. The Bears were drafted in round 13, they play the Bengals in week 3, the only time I will use them. My rating: great, might have over paid.

Overall I think this is a solid team. I think I'll need to make a deal for some Running Back Depth, or pray to God Lee Suggs gets it going in Cleaveland.

Whoa. I just checked my waiver claims, and two went through when I only expected to get one.

I now have Eric Moulds and Keary Colbert, and have dropped Davenport and the Cardinals D.

Eeek. Not sure what I'm going to do with 5 WRs.

Anyone have any thoughts about this trade?

How many teams in this league? At some point, you'll need a backup QB and while Carr has put up yardage, he's never been "prolific". That being said, I do think he has top prospects this season for being a top 12 QB... he's borderline right now though.

RBs... the only weakness is that Benson is as close to playing in the NFL as I am at this point, but he's your #5 and that's solid. I don't know how you picked up the likes of Holmes, James and Lewis - but, I dare say there is no finer trio.

I also like your WRs a lot. Johnson is a stud and Wayne and Porter are solid #2 options in what should be the top passing games in 2005. Smith is returning from injury, but I like the Panthers a lot and I think he can do great things.

Your TE's are on the "kinda average with lots of potential" side of the equation. K/Def... solid optoins.

Overall, QB depth is not there... Carr is a high #2 fantasy type of QB and your TEs are lacking, but the power at RB and WR is amazing.

You definately need the QB, but you don't need really Walker. Trading away Lewis would leave you with two complete unknown's as back-up RBs. I'd see if the guy has a #2/3 RB in place of Walker. It may drop the overall value of the trade, but might help your team more.

Maybe even a three man trade with Favre, Walker, and one of that guy's RBs, for Lewis, Carr, and one of your WRs. That way you wouldn't completely lose your depth at RB, you would upgrade your QB, and you would upgrade your WR over all but Andre Johnson.

Thinking out loud, but what about Porter, Carr and Cadillac for Favre and Walker?

You upgrade your QB... keep your top 3 RBs and you replace a top #2 WR with a strong #1. Dunno if the other guy would go for it...

I dunno though, I think Carr could really take off this year, here's the 1st 3 seasons.

2002 hou | 16 | 233 444 52.5 2592 5.8 9 15 | 59 282 3 |
2003 hou | 12 | 167 295 56.6 2013 6.8 9 13 | 27 151 2 |
2004 hou | 16 | 285 466 61.2 3531 7.6 16 14 | 73 299 0

He had a nice completion % last year, solid yardage, it's just the TDs that need to improve...

Add Sammy Parker in exchange for the Seattle D to the Savage Midget roster...........with a mediocre TE about to be swapped out for another player.

Coming to a FFB site near you this saturday morning....

Parker is obviously only a #2, but I'm liking what I see so far enough for a backup. Little risk FA WR Depth.

Parker was actually #2 on my waiver list after Moulds.

The tough thing about KC WRs in fantasy is they are never consistent. It seems like one week it will be Kennison, the next week it will be Gonzo, then the next week it's Morton (Parker). They put up decent overall numbers, they just don't produce consistently.

It will be interesting to see if that changes with Parker.

That's what drives me crazy... KC's #1 and #2 receivers are most often the 3rd and 4th options in the passing game. Those guys are as hard to figure out (from a "who to start" point of view) as the NE receivers.

Yep, Kennison was comparable last year to guys like Isaac Bruce, Jimmy Smith, and Derrick Mason (was better than Andre Johnson), but he didn't get it done every week. He had 6 games where he caught 3 balls or less.

NE is a good comparison. I had Branch last year, and never knew which WR would be flavor of the week, so rarely played him.
