The 7 Deadly sins of Andy Reid (from eagles message board)

I was trolling around in some eagles message boards last night and I found this from November of 2006. They had been calling for Reids head for a long time. Although I LOVE this hire, here are some "flaws" that eagles fans saw years ago from Reid

The 7 Deadly sins of Andy Reid

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Greed/Avarice:
Andy Reid only wants the big play, he has no patience to grind out drives. Running plays are part of a balanced offense.

-Laziness/Sloth:
He is unable to get the team to play with passion. They fail to do the fundamentals, the most basic yet critical points of playing football. The short practices he holds means he's not drilling them on doing the simple things. He relies too much on the team being self-motivated to be ready for games, but they don't, and his failure to prepare them is the issue.

-Pride/Hubris:
He is too stubborn to make changes. Admitting responsibility or pointing out mistakes or deficiencies means little when no changes are actually implemented.

-Lust:
Reid desperately wanted a high flying offense. He convinced his QB to stay in the pocket rather than scramble. He neither invested in a running game nor executed any semblence of a running game.

-Envy:
Reid was envious of warm weather teama and teams in domes that take advantage of the controlled weather. The Eagles have turned into a caricature of such a team: one that emphasizes the pass too much. Consider their early season record the past two years is 8-4 (4-2 each season) but horrible once the weather turns cold. It used to be Reid's record in November and December was good but that was when the team had a running game and a quality defense.

-Wrath:
Reid has lashed out against his critics and the journalists who challenge him, but not enough on his players.

-Gluttony:
Others would focus on the obvious. Coaching-wise, he's riding by on too much credit for beating too many bad teams in past seasons. This team used to be able to beat teams with poor QBs, now they can only beat over the hill QBs but not the young&inexperienced ones. When your defense can't stop the run, it doesn't matter what kind of confusing blitz packages you can throw at the QB.

This team has now lost many winnable home games in more and more embarrassing ways. It would be inconceivable that the team wins against the Colts, I'm thinking a redux of the Seattle MNF game from last year. Get the young players some experience, see what Justice and Jean-Gilles can do. See if Moats has any trade value.
