i ran 87 in mine for years. Not sure, but I don't think weed eater engines have enough compression to cause early detonation, thus requiring higher octane. Depending on the engine size etc.
mine was your typical Ryobi plane jane Home Depot job. I didn't run it for hours and hours. Just to edge etc. Probably ran it about 15 minutes a pop. they probably recommend 89 because their testing indicated it was the most efficient. I don't believe 87 will do any damage etc. |

You should be good. But unless is designed for ethanol it can do a number on small engines. Pick up something like STA-BIL fuel stabilizer for it.

Odds are it will be fine but I'd wear a fire suit until that can of gas is gone.

Go down to your local O'Reilly's or Autozone and pick up a bottle/can of octane boost. Or just pour what you have into your car's gas tank and start over. A little 2 cycle oil won't hurt anything.

I get 93. Only the best for my heavily tuned 2 stroke.

Yup
Had a 2000 Seadoo RX with a level 1 performance kit on it and it required more octane...I started using a mix of 3 parts 91 and 2 parts 104 octane race fuel from VP but that shit is EXPENSIVE so I just started using 92 (the highest I could get back home) and it ran fine. As long as you buy fuel from a decent brand name supplier you should be ok.
