I won't say it's a better version, but Devo's Satisfaction seemed to really capture the spirit of the song. Jagger thought it was the best cover of the song he had heard. I guess it depends on whether you liked Devo. They were sort of a love em/hate em band.

I remember back about 86' / 87' there was a drummer from (T-Rex I think someone told me once???) who did a cover of Del Shannons "my little runaway" rocked it to hell.
Loui Cavaza or something or other like that . (never could remember the guy's name) I just remember the video had dancing dinosaurs, and the last clips were a dinosaur band with him singing behind the drum kit while he played and the skins on his kick drums said T-Rex.

I'm a big fan of cover tunes. Great inclusions by everyone so far. Here's some of my favorites:
DeVotchKa covering the Velvet Underground's "Venus in Furs": Dark and sexy with that old world, Middle Eastern flair that DeVotchKa uses in their music (which was employed by the VU in the original, so it was an excellent choice by DVK to cover this tune). Great band that follows on the heals of 16 Horsepower (one of the best alt-country/folk rock bands ever). Original song: |
