Chiefs 2011 Schedule.

Four of the first six games are on the road. At New England, At Indianapolis, At New York (Jets), At Chicago. Brutal... You hate us don't you Roger Goodell? Silver lining? The Chiefs will play three primetime games. Two on Monday Night... One on Sunday Night... Two of those three at Arrowhead.

That's an ugly schedule... Looks like 7-9 is a distinct possibility. On the bright side, isn't it nice to look at 7-9 as being horribly disappointing?

Can't say that I disagree. We'll have to be superb again at home to make this a 9 win season.
I think 9 is the high-water mark.

Yep. This is where the Chiefs prove if they're for real or not. If they win the division this year, they'll start getting some respect. If they fall flat, the people who said they only won because of an easy schedule last year will be proven right.

I'll never understand why they schedule opponents for both preseason and regular season.

If one looks closely at the schedule, it looks like they may have planned for a couple of weeks that they can get rid of in case the lockout does cost them a couple of weeks. I posted this on another site, but:

Weeks 2 and 4 would likely be the ones to go by the wayside first (at Detroit and vs Minnesota for us).

If you look there are no divisional games in either of those two weeks, which in itself is quite a rarity (look at the schedules for the last few years and you won't find a week with no divisional games scheduled).
The other thing is that every home team in week two is on the road in week four.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you will, but no way is that coincidental.

The Patriots' first five opponents are Dolphins, Chargers, Bills, Raiders, and Jets. Three divisional, two other AFC. I think you're reading too much into things.

In week 2 New England hosts San Diego and in week 4 they are at Oakland.
One home, one away, no division opponents.
