Just talked about how Carl has always wanted Vermeil, yada yada...
How Slyvester's injury is a big hurt for them and how Snoop HAS to step up. They are bringing in 5 WRs this week (Charlie Jones, Kirby Dar Dar, Derrick Mayes, etc.) and how whoever they sign will be insurance policies and that Snoop WILL START. (said by John Clayton, so who knows if this is true) Ron Wolfe (former GM of GB) said the Chiefs have a great player, in Snoop, and how they thought (GB org.) that Snoop is going to be a great football player, and that KC is going to find out. He also thinks that he can fill the roll of #2 WR Everything else was the usual...you know...Mark Malone and John Clayton talking the Chiefs down. Last year (when Green was with the Rams) I remember Malone saying that Green is a great QB and will be for whomever he starts with...then he aboards the Chiefs and he's "Questionable if he can play, etc." I hate that crap, we get NO respect. Oh well...now that I think about it, we don't deserve respect because of the ape show Gunther put on last year. Guess we're gonna have to earn it... Malone said something that made sense though... "The number one thing on offense, is that you have to score points; regardless of what the Ravens did last year, you HAVE to score points to win." CG sorry...rambling:D :p

Oh, one more thing, how the Chiefs are trying to fill in the "Marshall Faulk" spot with Priest Holmes and how TRich is not as explosive as Faulk (who is?)...
and they also said something like, meanwhile, the Chiefs are still looking for another Marshall Faulk, but so is the rest of the league. CG that last part was said before the first...sorry, long day at classes (testing)

I really liked the way Ron Wolf talked about Snoop. This guy is a damn good judge of talent. I believe he had some pretty good WRs in GB under his tenure. With all the attention being on Gonzo and DA I bet Snoop comes up big and everytime he does we should adore him with a big loud 'SNOOOOOOOOP'.

Hey guys,
Just to kinda add to the opinions on the wide receiver situation, here's a good article in the Topeka Capital Journal. http://cjonline.com/stories/062601/spo_deancol.shtml

Who is Charlie Jones? If Mayes' knees are shot, do we stand pat for now?

For some reason, if I post an HTML table, it adds 45 blank lines before the table...
<table width="100%" border=0 cellpadding=3 cellspacing=0><tr><td colspan=4></td><td></td><td colspan=5 align=center><font size="-2" face="arial">--RECEIVING--</font></td><td></td><td colspan=5 align=center><font size="-2" face="arial">--RUSHING--</font></td><td></td><td colspan=3 align=center><font size="-2" face="arial"><b>--FUMBLES--</b></font></td></tr><tr><td><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>YR</b></font><br>96<br>97<br>98<br>99<br>00</font></td><td><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>TM</b></font><br>Sd<br>Sd<br>Sd<br>Sd<br>No</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>G</b></font><br>14<br>16<br>16<br>8<br>0</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>GS</b></font><br>4<br>11<br>11<br>0<br>0</font></td><td></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>REC</b></font><br>41<br>32<br>46<br>10<br>0</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>YDS</b></font><br>524<br>423<br>699<br>90<br>0</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>AVG</b></font><br>12.8<br>13.2<br>15.2<br>9.0<br>--</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>LNG</b></font><br>63t<br>44t<br>56<br>44t<br>--</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>TD</b></font><br>4<br>1<br>3<br>1<br>0</font></td><td></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>ATT</b></font><br>0<br>4<br>4<br>1<br>0</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>YDS</b></font><br>0<br>42<br>39<br>-8<br>0</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>AVG</b></font><br>--<br>10.5<br>9.8<br>-8.0<br>--</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>LNG</b></font><br>--<br>17<br>14<br>-8<br>--</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>TD</b></font><br>0<br>0<br>0<br>0<br>0</font></td><td></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>FUM</b></font><br>0<br>0<br>1<br>1<br>0</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>REC</b></font><br>0<br>0<br>0<br>1<br>0</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>YDS</b></font><br>0<br>0<br>0<br>0<br>0</font></td></tr><tr bgcolor="#f0f0df"><td><font size="-1"> <br><b>Totals</b></font></td><td><font size="-1"> <br> </font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>G</b></font><br>54</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>GS</b></font><br>26</font></td><td colspan=2 align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>REC</b></font><br>129</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>YDS</b></font><br>1736</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>AVG</b></font><br>13.5</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>LNG</b></font><br>63t</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>TD</b></font><br>9</font></td><td colspan=2 align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>ATT</b></font><br>9</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>YDS</b></font><br>73</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>AVG</b></font><br>8.1</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>LNG</b></font><br>17</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>TD</b></font><br>0</font></td><td colspan=2 align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>FUM</b></font><br>2</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>REC</b></font><br>1</font></td><td align="right"><font size="-1"><font size="-2" color="#191970"><b>YDS</b></font><br>0</font></td></tr></table>
Charlie Jones would be a pretty decent receiver, probably better than Mayes provided he's healthy. He was a starter in San Diego for a while, but didn't play last year... |

I believe we all remember the days in which the defense and special teams scored points and also shut down the opponents. We just hoped the offense didn't give up points.. :)

Cody: Thanks 4 the deets. Usually Clayton is pretty accurate, but Malone is friggin' media shill.
Izen: Nice article. Thanks 4 the link. bkkcoh: I too remeber a time when the Chiefs D was about all the O they had. Maybe a little ST scoring here and there off of a blocked kick. "Snoop(y) fired once, and he fired twice. He shot that 'ol Red Baron clean outa sight." "He used his fast-twitch muscles to shake off them 'ol DBs all night." Have faith in the system!!
