Cedar Point in Ohio
http://www.cedarpoint.com/
Is this theme park worth the road trip? Thinking of taking my oldest on a amusement park tour this summer with Cedar Point being the furthest and last stop before heading back. Figure on Worlds of fun and Six Flags as bookends. Might look into Kings Island as well. Last edited by 007; 12-23-2008 at 06:14 AM.. |

I went a few years back with a few friend.. My experience: more than half of the rides were shut down due to maintenance. If you do end up going, call ahead of time to see if the rides are working. We didn't get to ride any of the better rides at the park. Also, stay away from the weekend! Lines can get rediculously long!!

Best coaster I've ever been on: Millennium Force, hands-down. It's like riding a rocket. (Second-best: the Superman coaster at Six Flags New England. Amazing airtime on that ride, and it's constantly ranked high on coaster enthusiast lists.)
Cedar Point is like a coaster smorgasboard (sp?). You've got old wood, new wood, inverted, suspended, stand-up, 200 feet, 300 feet, 400 feet, WTF... Something for everyone. |

That place was so much fun. I can't wait to go back sometime soon.

It's the best amusement park out there, period. The water park is also awesome.

I saw that they have closed down the windseeker rides because one of them broke down last week and left riders trapped for quite a while.

Cedar point is terrific. Kings island near Cincy is a distant second, but it's still a solid park.
If all you want is an amusement park. Sandusky is nothing to write home about. You're pretty close to Cleveland but there's nothing to do there. I'd take an extra half hour and drive to Columbus instead. Or if you wanted to make a weekend of it, check out put in bay (as long as you're in season). It's like a redneck Mardi gras there. |

Cedar Point is the best. I grew up going there. So much fun. My favorite theme park.
