With all the talk about roster shuffling, and Hall likely getting squeezed out for the Oakland game, I got to wondering if Ricks will be on the active squad for this game. Does anybody know? Or have you heard how he is getting on so far as a Chief? If he's on the squad, then maybe Parker could be inactivated for this game and Hall kept for his return ability. Thoughts?

Gun said Ricks would play last week...he was in uniform...but if he played...I didn't see him...Gun says that he's been doing really well in practice...I hope they use him...we'd have the best receivers in the league if he came on strong...on the other hand Gun has said a lot of things this year that made no sense...he needs more sleep...

Parker is in the dog house...after his fumbles the last time he returned the ball, but he's valuable on coverage units so Hall gets the inactive tag...who else?

Thanks joe.....

I had thought Ricks was to play last weekend but unfortunately I couldn't even see the game . I have noticed Parker doing some useful things on STs, but the way our STs play we suck with or without him! I'd prefer to see them stick with Hall on returns if possible.

With the other options at punt/kick returns...I think Hall sits this week...I think eventually he'll be a good return man and may even get some time at RB...but I watched Guns press conference the other night and he didn't sound to enthused about the way Hall was returning...he was most down on his kick returns but said he was doing okay on punts...he also said that Hall's early season injury has kept him from being where everyone expected him to be by this time...he did say he was very impressed by the way he handled the ball, that is he didn't fumble..we shall see...

FYI, according to nfl.com gamebook, Ricks DNP last week. Also of note, Stills was inactive. Was he injured? Or has he really fallen that far out of favor w/ Gun?

It's a bit disappointing because I have always thought that kick/punt returns is a rookies game. Sometimes these burners come out of college and have no way of staying with the team but for return duties. So they run for all they're worth to keep their roster spot. A lot of the more established players become more and more careful of their bodies (not that I am blaming them) and are afraid to just run it back up the middle with a catch-me-if-you-can mentality. Only the best (Deion, Brian Mitchell, Glyn Milburn, even Desmond Howard) have the knack of finding a seam and hitting it, so they don't lose confidence or get injured so much and stay at the top of the ST profession for several seasons. I am not knocking Hall, it's probably the coverage that stinks, but after all the speedsters (rookie FAs etc) that were brought to camp, I was really expecting some exciting returns this season. Now we are going to leave our best option inactive, while we go back to mediocrity (Parker, Lockett), worse than mediocrity (Cloud) or start mis-using our #1 WR (DA) which would be a terrible mistake IMO.

ct, I don't know about Stills, my guess is that he's inactive because or LBs are healthy...Gun makes some funny statements...he can praise a guy like he was God and then make him inactive...

Comac, the biggest coaching mistake Gun could make is putting DA in for returns...he's too valuable to risl injury...funny thing the other night Gun was talking about him as a return guy but said that he didn't want to take any chances with him getting hurt...now he's saying something different...I like Gun, but he's confused at times...

like you said in #1, joe, "he needs more sleep". That would be a huge blunder to put DA in on returns.

coryt, thanks for that website......I had never seen the gamebooks before.
