And many thought priest wouldn't even make the team after his injury, again I said, you never know. Now in priest's and Hali's cases I WAS rooting for them.

And in Priest's case, most people thought he wouldn't regain his old form, and he never did. It was an embarrassingly pathetic "comeback."

You've been in the basement on CP too much. Every player to sign an NFL contract has talent. Matt is grossly overpaid for what he's done as a chief. But he can throw a football. And weis proved Matt could have success not in NE. Can Matt get back to that season? I don't know, and neither do you. You just think its easier to sling shit, call names and use absolutes.

Matt CAN'T get back to that season because he won't face the easiest schedule in the NFL with the best rushing attack and a perfect storm from his WR, OC and multiple DBs dropping INTs EVER AGAIN. And even IF he did, he'd blow it in the playoffs again. That's not "successful." Perhaps I chose my words poorly. Matt Cassel isn't a good player. Hali and Priest are and were. Big difference.

We've seen the same shit constantly from Matt for four seasons now. He's not changing, and NFL teams won't give him another chance.

While not historically bad, they were almost as ineffective last year with Cassel as well.

Then why are you holding onto this notion he can be an effective QB?

Completely different situations and an extremely poor comparison.

Not even remotely.
In Tamba, you had a young guy who actually had the frame/skills to play as a 3-4 OLB or the Elephant. Additionally, he busted his ass to get better and due to his talent it paid off. Cassel busted his ass as well (probably, I wasn't there for OTAs, weights, film study, etc) and it didn't pay off due to his lack of talent. The reason you keep claiming that Weiss was able to get production out of Cassel is due largely in part to an incredibly weak schedule, limiting his throw selections, and an elite run game. You honestly think that a guy who is 30 and has his confidence shot has a remote chance of learning how to go through his progressions, develop semblance of pocket presence, will fix his release, and learn how to be effective against 5+ rushers? This is a completely different scenario than say, Kurt Warner as Warner had already demonstrated those skills repeatedly on a consistent basis. There is literally no way that Cassel becomes an effective QB (top 16).
