DraftPlanet is not closed.
Draft discussion is now encouraged in the Lounge. This format has been followed in the past and fell by the wayside.

We've had a discussion within this thread and reached a partial compromise. I don't know exactly what it looks like but I have a general idea of what I think would be positive for ChiefsPlanet. I'm looking to regular participants in DraftPlanet and The Lounge to help fill in the blanks with their own cool ideas.

The following is not yet etched in stone. There's a lot of pertinent discussion throughout the thread.
DraftPlanet will remain open until one week after the Combine. Draft gurus will be encouraged to start and/or ask for threads to be moved to the Lounge. We want to encourage football discussion in the Lounge and we hope Draftnits will seek to share their knowledge with the GenPop. Finally, DraftPlanet will remain open year around but new threads will be moderated by Draft moderators and moved to the Lounge or kept in DraftPlanet based on a yet-to-be determined criteria which is up for discussion.

The media sub forum gets TONS of traffic.

You know why the draft sub forum doesn't? Because nobody really cares.

I did. I said that I preferred full reintegration but that your revised idea for keeping the draft forum open for more wonky, less locally interesting content while putting Chiefs-related and local/high-profile player stuff in the Lounge (minus the prayer thread part) was a reasonable compromise.

OK, so he referenced "concerns of draftniks" but he didn't say "we got complaints".

From looking at the entirety of the thread, it sure seems to me that was an assumption on his part.

I don't see any first-hand evidence of any draftnik saying anything until AFTER the change was proposed.

Actually after reading #167 again, the "concerns" he referenced are almost certainly the concerns raised in THIS THREAD, after the changes were proposed.

In other words, no concerns/complaints precipitated this change.

So your reference to "whining" is wrong.

He quoted one expression of concern. Direckshun and SNR both expressed concerns. They weren't the only ones, but theirs are the ones I remember off the top of my head. Phobia explicitly says he's responding to concerns. I don't know that it could be more clear than that. I'm confused by your confusion. The "prayer thread treatment" was also Phobia's idea. No draftnik suggested it, to my knowledge.

Most of the draftniks in this thread don't want a change AT ALL. They want it to remain the way it was.

You keep characterizing this as some sort of complaint movement by the draftniks, which simply isn't the case.

Show me the post where someone brought up treating draft threads like prayer threads before Phobia mentioned it.

The whining took place in this thread. Phobia described them as "concerns". "Whining" doesn't mean "must have taken place in a different thread" or "must have preceded this thread". Seriously, I don't understand your mental block on this.
