He’s a really good single high safety, ineffective as a box safety and is in the box a lot lately. He’s a rookie getting slammed for not making the tackle on a back that shot straight through the front 7 over and over nearly untouched.
I don’t know why Spags hasn’t just moved Jones permanently to DE at this point. He’s very disruptive, but gets out of his gap consistently and that leaves runs coming straight through his gap. Long story short, Thornhill needs to do a lot better tackling, but the real problem is the front 7 not playing responsibly. |

I guess we are seeing why the Chiefs went hard after Mika Fitzpatrick at safety instead of corner. The shitshow we are seeing now Veach was aware of but trying to fit him in cheaply allowed Pitt to step in. That may cost us this year and years to come.

Entire secondary sucked yesterday. Thornhill and Fenton got truck sticked by a QB. Badger didn’t have any impact. Just when people start talking about Ward, he gets roasted for a 50 yarder by a rookie WR. Better get it together quickly or Williams and Allen are going to beast.

Jones is not responsible for the cutback. He's responsible for the outside in case of a QB boot, etc. That Cutback lane is Raglunds and he's hip to hip with Hitchens over the top...

We couldn't compete with Pittsburgh for him... They had just lost Big Ben and looked like they may only win 3-4 games... Those draft picks at the time looked to be a lot better than the Chiefs picks...

Juan Thornhill
That’s not entirely Clark’s fault there. He can’t launch himself into Tanny’s back without risking pushing him past the sticks.
That play needed to be stamped out by Fenton and Mathieu. Guy’s a ****ing QB; idc how much bigger he is than you. Put your shoulder into his ****ing thigh and call it a day. |

Jones is there to make sure no one gets to the outside. Hes watching Tannehill and then he sees that Tannehill doesn't have the ball so he makes a play on the ball. Hes doing exactly what he is coached to do. #93 gets blown off of his spot. How do people not understand that his responsibility is to contain the edge. Tannehill is pretty mobile, so he could have kept that ball and if Jones crashes down on that then people are gonna bitch cuz Jones bit on that and abandoned his assignment.

Rookies will have some bad games. Part of the problem is about the first down Tanny picked up on his feet is people are scared to hit QBs. If they could lead with their head like they used to they could get the force needed to kind of stuff him back.

He definitely was afraid to fill on the majority of runs letting the RB come to him. Saw it several times.
