If the Chiefs decide to try to acquire someone else's QB, and we're dead set on not drafting a franchise QB, I sincerely hope that Flacco shits the bed this Sunday. Perhaps this would be enough to make the Ravens stupid enough to walk away from him.

If need be, I'd back the Brinks truck up to get him, and/or I'd trade the #1 overall pick. Without thinking twice.

If we fly into free agency and re up Albert or tag him, that will be the first "clue" as to whats going on.

I'm sure we will hear stuff from the combines, pro days etc too. Hell, with the iron fist that was Pioli gone, maybe TBG will hear something from his source.

Either way, I don't see why it's such a bad thing to atleast engage in debate about other options at this point.

This is the same organization that traded for Cassel and drafted T-Jack and that's been dumpster diving for other team's backups for YEARS. Good thing Scooter's gone.

I have faith the new regime will do the right thing though.

The Chiefs have NEVER drafted a QB that worked out. It takes a great QB to win in the NFL. As someone said the other day, we need a G@D D@#M QB, so draft a G@D D@#M QB. If it takes drafting a G@D D@#M QB in RD1 , RD2 and RD3 then do it. We are probably the only team in the NFL that has never drafted and developed one that worked.

Te'o knows there's a better QB prospect in the '14 draft.

This QB class is being looked at and frowned upon because of the last draft, and the fact that Smith and Wilson played for teams lacking in overall talent, which led to mediocre team records.

Looking the the previous drafts, there are only 3 or 4 QBs, at best, who were better prospects from 2002 to 2011.

Looking at those drafts, the only #1 overall QBs that I would consider better prospects would be Carson Palmer and Eli Manning, other than Luck.

From where I sit, and to the best of my recollection, there are only 5 or 6 QBs that actually had fewer question marks in these drafts.

Here is what I don't get MilkMan. IMO the success of last years draft class in my mind would only make teams want to draft QBs and play them early on in there careers. IMO success from rookie QBs is a good thing for pro football and that more QBs comming out of college can find success. Cam Newton had a hell of a rookie year and this year followed up with that having 3 QBs going to the playoffs.

So why is this so hard to grasp that Geno Smith is worth the #1 pick? When rookie QBs have success that should open the door for future prospects to be taken early in the draft. I am dumbfounded that these people don't consider Geno Smith a top prospect worth takeing #1. I am not saying he is a run QB either but a pocket passer that can extend plays like LUCK can even though he is not Andrew Luck so I'm not saying he is. Geno Smith can make a name for himself in the pros.

The wonderful 2008 Miami Dolphins(810 radio) model of LT in the first and QB in the second:

#1 - Jake Long
#32 - Philip Merling
#57 - Chad Henne

So much better than taking a Matt Ryan at #3 or Flacco at #18
