Seriously, though, Shawnee? Really?

I enjoy living in Shawnee. Good school systems, good cost of living, not quite in the city, but not in the country either. Not having lived in the other cities on the list, it's hard to compare. If you enjoy all four seasons, not a bad place to live at all. If you don't like cold weather, obviously you wouldn't put Kansas in your top 20.

I would assume cost of living, quality of schools, unemployment rates, median income...etc etc.

If cities like Shawnee and OP are on this list, Olathe is very well deserving. Not sure why CNN missed out on this. Other lists similar to this have all three cities.

Shawnee isn't bad at all, I agree. However, the best 2 Shawnee Mission schools are in Prairie Village and Leawood respectively.

If the criteria was the most bland average looking women on the face of the planet combined with 4 horrible seasons of weather, then I can see why Shawnee and Overland Park made the list.

Its all relative to someones point of view. Thats why most of these lists are kind of silly. All depends on what you want out of life.

While the KC area isnt a "sexy" pick by any means, most of the surrounding suburbs offer a decent Quality of Life.

Can't speak for those because I haven't lived there. But I've lived in a lot of places and the midwest has more homely/average looking women than anyplace else I've ever been. A big part of it is climate. You get to the coast (esp Cali) and people are active year round, and women have to compete for men. I was in Cali a few weeks ago and I could throw a rock and hit 7 ultra hot women with it. In Kansas? Few and far between.
