Is Our D starting to complement our O?
What I mean by that is not just in result. Here's what I am thinking:
The strength of this team is still the offense. It is still the #1 offense in the league (when Roaf plays). What is the best way to exploit that strength? By keeping the other O off of the field. That is what our goal and D should be, and I think that might be the thinking of the brain trust at Arrowhead, too. How do you keep the opposing O off the field? By playing aggressive and forcing three and outs. Of course, you'll give up some big plays, too, but so f'n what when you have the best offense in the league? You hear how coaches want to shorten the game sometimes (which is what Dallas will want to do to us), but what the Chiefs want is essentially to lengthen the game, and force the other team into a scoring fest that they cannot win. So I say blitz the shit of Bledsoe, stop the run, and if Bledsoe beats you over the top, so what? Make him do it again next possession. I don't think he can keep doing with the hits we'll deliver. |

Yup. Blitz him to death. Get DJ or mitchell to hit him hard once, he won't be worth a shit the rest of the game...

100% dead-on.
That's the goal of Gunther's defense, even in the days of Dale Carter and DT. It's the fundamental opposite of bend-don't break. The goal is to take away the run and make the other team 1-dimensional. If you force them to pass, you can pin your ears back, which leads to turnovers. Inevitably, it will lead to getting burnt, but ultimately you'll get more chances to score and your opponent won't be able to score consistently/establish a rhythm. |

Statue QB with zero mobility + struggling offensive line= BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ Gunther
I hope the Chiefs make it a deja vu experience for Bledsoe, replicating the last time Bledsoe faced the Chiefs. |

Get in the backfield and mess things up...
Very good take, IMO. xoxo~ Gaz Wants Gunther to unleash the dogs on Bledsoe. |
