I watched an episode of Through the Wormhole where one scientist said the universe is actually finite in and has a shape of a soccer ball, and some of the stars we see that are billions and billions of miles away could actually be reflections of our stars and the stars around us.

Doesn't seem weird to me if you presume that our corner and our observable universe isn't all there is. If you go out far enough beyond what we can currently see, I seriously doubt you'll find unending blackness forever and ever, THAT would be strange and unbelievable.
